Fimming Secondary Growth

Does anyone know if it would be beneficial to fim some of the secondary growth on my plant? I would fim the growth on the tip of my main stem but some kind of mutation caused the node that is coming in right now to be quadrifoliate so I'm going to leave that for now. I read that if you prune the fan leaf below the stem of a shoot of secondary growth something happens hormonally with the plant and that shoot of secondary growth begins to grow much faster, so I'm thinking if i were to fim a few secondary shoots and then prune the fan leaf below them that those shoots would produce alot more buuud than an untouched shoot. Does anyone have any knowledge on this matter?

Don't, leave all leaves that are 50% or more healthy. (I roll with a more 30% health 70% damage routine, where I prune the leaf if it's that bad)
The best thing to do is hack off small spindly branches, root them if you want.
All leaves are the solar panels for a plant.. the fastest growth will come from having as many leaves as possible...

okay well I did it to one leaf/secondary shoot just to see what the results will be. Also it was one of the lower leaves so it wasn't very big and wasn't getting as much direct light as the higher up fan leaves. I'll post a picture of the growth in a couple days.
