Ok so ive been a long time reader on these forums and im a first time poster. The last few years i've been running a successful flood and drain perpetual setup but i've decided to try my hand at some soil. I've got enough babies to fill up two 4 by 4's, one will have 36 in one gallon pots and the other will have 15 in two gallon pots. The 15 going in the two gallon pots have had about a three week veg head start on the 36 so i'm not really looking for a whole lot of veg time. I have already purchased the Fox farms trio for soil and i'm really looking forward to trying this stuff out. I don't plan on using the FFOF since i'm looking to veg two weeks max. Ive grown in coco before and id like to try something different so i was thinking about a very bland soil mixture like equal parts good garden topsoil mushroom compost and perlite. My question is will this soil blend be bland enough? Id like to start running the FF veg blend right away if at all possible. Also i never mix full strength nutrients so i already planned on starting with a 1/4 dose but i'm not sure if that will be too much too. The garden soil and compost i use state a npk ratio of like .05 .05 .05 on the bag. I've been searching high and low to find anyone else doing a FF trio soil mini grow but it seems like everyone always uses the FFOF in conjunction. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.....
