Few quick questions

If anybody could help me out here, i'm not looking to spend a lot of money (none at all, if possible), but i'd appreciate a few points cleared up for me. i just want to grow for personal casual use, and so was thinking i'd just germinate a few seeds, pot 'em, and not do anything too elaborate. i'm going to assume they'll still grow in just sunlight during the day, as it is a plant like any other. i'm not in a hurry, so i don't care if it's not the quickest way to grow. thanks, and any pointers appreciated. :)

It's kinda late to plant outside unless your in Florida or someplace where u don't get frost till late if at all.

Well if you are going to pot them I guess you can put them outside, but you will need to put them in a place where they will get good sun for at least 5 hours ... morning sun would be best, but if you can keep them in the sun all day .... but the other poster is right ... it's getting late for planting outside unless there is going to be a late frost.

If you have a warm sunporch that would be good.

Good luck:peace: :hump:

well, i meant to keep it inside in a pot, that way it won't die in the frost. or at least move it back in once the summer's over

thanks for the tips guys. i was mostly wondering about how i can capitalize without too much care or money tossed into the operation.

U could move it in after the summer's over and sit it in a window or something.I don't know how much sun u'd get doing it that way but it's worth a shot.By that time u could have a good sized plant....just pray somebody don't walk by and figure out what it is.

haha, yeah, that's generally a good idea. what about pots, etc.? does the size of the container matter, or just as long as it can hold the plant? and then what about moving it around, that won't bother it, right?

also, bit premature for it, but any tips about flowering and when to harvest would be cool too, totaly a noob at that. but i won't really need that for a while till it gets there, so don't worry too much bout it.

I'm only on my first grow so maybe we can learn from each other.I did alot of looking up this before I even started and i'm still reading up on everything and taking in what everybody on here is doin and not doin.Well u do want them to have enough room to root out. They grow pretty damn quick when they wanna.I had to do an emergancy transplant last week cause the roots were growing right out the bottom the pots.I'd say to give em at least a gallon sized pot to grow(that's what I'm using now).I'm a bit sketchy about the whole flowering/sexing thing too but that's what everybody's here for.If u need advice or help on anything there's plenty of it believe me.U could always check out the faqs. There's tons of info there that I bet would help ya.I'm always lookin there myself

sweet. yeah i started by reading a lot of the faqs and checking out some threads that looked helpful. thanks for the tip on the pots, i'm gonna have to find myself some more dirt soon. i want to start a full sized growing operation, but i've got to leave for 4 months in january, and nobody can come take care of them. so i figure i'll just see what this one does and start when i get back. i have noticed that they (this one anyway) has been doing fairly well all on its own. i accidentally left it in the germinating bag for like 2 weeks before potting it, and it still took nicely (there were already two green leaves by the time i put it in dirt, and it was prolly 3 or 4 inches tall w/the roots.) i'm gonna look for a few more seeds too, just in case it turns out male or dies. oh, and is there really any sure way to tell what strain it is w/o knowing what kind of seed it was? i read a bunch of places it was really hard, cept with white widow, so prolly not, just wondering if you found somethin different.

I have no clue how 2 tell what strains are what.I got a bunch of different strains myself from bag seed I got growing. If u had some pics maybe one of the more expirenced people in here could tell u.U can get really cheap soil at Wal-Mart tho.Look for something without time release fert.Better off getting your own nutes.I got a 40lb bag of soil for less than 2 bucks.U should mix in some perlite if the soil ain't already got it.Perlite is the white stuff u usually see in potting soil.It helps lighten the soil and lets the roots breath.

Cool. I actually just found my brothers old bag of soil, so that's good. I'm gonna have to start from scratch again though, it iddn't make it past the first few weeks. i was told it was Damping off, where the stem rots and it falls over and dies. generally to seedlings in cold moist soil, which is exactly what i had, so i'll fix that for next time. trial and error mate, only way to go. else you're just following advice and don't know for sure...

I listen to what people are saying but really u gotta find your own way.If something works for u then stick to it.There's so many different ways to grow this shit it's kinda ridiculous....just keep trying.
