Few harvest questions

Right i have 3 BB plants and its my first grow. Im nine weeks into flowering and im using a 250w cfl and another 150w cfl both red spectrum. The colas seem to be ready for harvest but the lower bud still has loads of white pistills.
Can i just chop off the cola and continue to mature the rest of the plant.

Also when im drying out the bud i dont have anywhere completly dark 24/7 that will also have air flow .How essential is it for them to be in complete darkness drying out.The only place i would have air flow and 24/7 darkness would be my grow room(closet) but if im chopping the colas first there'll still be light in there.

Also on another note comparing the size of my bud to some other pics on the site makes me sad lol .. would this be to do with cfl vs hps lights been better or just with it being my first grow and im unexperienced.

you can just chop the tops if you want....

use a shoe box, or some kind of box and hang string in it to hang the buds from...mostly dark will due fine...

and yes hps is what makes the big buds...I think you need a lot more cfl lighting to flower big buds..

i was going to ask to see some pics of your harvest ( because im also growing BB ) and i would have liked to see your results from CFL... i started my BBs under CFL and then i moved them to 430w HPS for flowering.. I let them stay in the flowering room under the hps for a week on a 18/6 (veg) schedule so i could monitor the room conditions.. i think ive worked out the heat problems pretty much so today i just put them into flowering ... ( will be updating my grow journal with pics when the lights come on in 3 hours )
