I planted a few plants in miracle grow soil 50% and some regular soil 50% and one of them is starting to get yellow leafs, I think it is time to fert but I could use some help with which ones to use, I mainly get my supplies from Lowes and Home Depot so if anyone knows any names of good ferts for veg and flowering please let me know thanks

Before you think you need ferts, how long ago did you plant? How large are the pots? Pictures would help out here. If your pots are too small you could be just rootbound. Miracle Grow potting soil usually feeds for a good month or so. Need more info to diagnose the problem, and pics would really help to see if you are just havinga nuet dificiency of some sort.

Need more info. When did you plant them, what kind of MG soil, there are a few kinds....

Also is the yellowing starting at the top of the plant or the bottom?

I have been working on getting my hands on a camera to take some pics, I planted them about a month ago or alittle over a month actually, I used the 3 month miracle grow potting soil with half regualr soil in a small planter. I would say about half a gallon maybe. The plant is small and bushy and the yellow has started near the bottom big fan leafs. I will try to get some pics up today, thanks

Sounds like you've exhausted the nutes in your MG. I used the MG potting soil w/3 month nutes too. But I didn't cut it with regular soil. Exactly 3 months later I had lower leaves yellowing. This sounds like a classic nutrient deficiency, one of which would be Nitrogen. Any one of the all purpose fertilizers at Lowes/HD will work, but they're not the best. I think I've read of people here recommending Schultz?

Are you growing indoors or out? The reason I ask is you're only using a 1/2 gallon pot. If you have the room for growth, I'd suggest putting it into a 3 gallon pot at least. If you're doing an indoor grow where room is an issue then the small pot is understandable.

Best of luck with your grow!

Yeah the room is good size, these were just my experiments to see if the new room would actually grow plants, I decided to let them go becuase they grew so fast, I already picked up some Schultz plant food, 10-15-10. Would this be enough or would i need the actual fert?

The fert i got is Schultz 10-15-10 plant food plus. It says just add 7 drops to every quart every time i water. So this would be the fert for veg i assume? I was wondering if I would need a different kind of fert for flowering or if this would work all the way threw?

The label says :

Total Nitrogen 10 %
Available Phosphate 15%
Soluble Potash 10 %
Iron 0.10%
Manganese 0.05 %
Zinc 0.05 %

Sorry for the ongoing questions I am just a noob when it comes to ferts and I don't want to hurt my girls.
