if i am trieing to make female seeds.can i use females from feminized seeds.will this work o will it cause hermies? thank you for the help

There's a thread about how to make femmed beans on the first page here.
Musing silver is no more likely to produce hermi offspring than regular breeding. Make sure to stress test your mothers to eleminate a y that herm easily.

I'm by no means sure, I'm just guessing, but I would think based on common sense that it would be better to use a female plant that was from a non-feminized seed rather than a female plant from a feminized seed. Simply because feminized seed have a higher chance of going hermi. So basically you'd be starting with weaker genetics to make your feminized seeds. That in turn would lead to fem seeds that would have a higher rate of hermi'ing. Once again just a guess but the logic sounds right to me.

A female plant from a regular seed is the same as a female plant from a feminized seed. They both have 2 X chromosomes (XX).

Not true.

Guess?
It is a complete myth that feminized seeds are more likely to "hermie."
Properly made feminized seeds are just as likely to "hermie" as regular seeds.

The rumor was started by crappy growers that stressed plants from feminized seeds and got monoecious hermaphrodites.
Those same growers would get the same results from plants from regular seeds.

I have produced feminized seeds using regular seeds, feminized seeds and clones.
Using feminized seeds to produce feminized seeds is great. It saves you time.

No one has been able to offer me a compelling reason to not use feminized seeds to breed, much less produce more feminized seeds.

As soon as it cools down a bit, I will be making another batch of feminized seeds.
They will be from regular Blueberry seeds, as DJ short does not release fem seeds.
I will be pollinating at least one other plant from a fem seed.

this is what i hoped to hear.thank you

this will be my first attempt.it doesnt seem to be a complicated proceder.it would be great to have a supply of my favorites.

I just used TM to make fem ceeds. The plants that i used were clones that were taken from a plant grown by fem ceeds. All of it was possible from great knowledge and advice from the one and only Trousers....

Listen to the man, he knows his shit! Helped me tons! Thanks again Bro!

Note: The original plant that came from a feminized ceed WAS NOT A HERM!!! Imagine that! All this bull shit talking bout fems being herm prone! Oh, and I have 6 different strains growing in one cab, all from fem ceeds AND NOT ONE HERMAPHRODITE!

I found timing important. My last attempt was not timed properly. The male plant was only a week ahead of the female flowering and it took 6 weeks for balls to start poppin then the first ones seemed to be shooting blanks so by the end of that I ended up with a female that was almost done flowering before being pollenated. 2nd try.... I waited a full 3 weeks before putting the female into flower hoping for it to be around 3 weeks old when the balls begin to pop. So far the male...inized plant is stackin ball pretty thick and the female is 1 week 12/12 this week, the male is 4. So far it seems to be working out much better this way and I expect success this round. I was a lot lighter on the spray this time too once a day for a few days before flower and for a the first week. Then every other day for another week. I did not soak the plant like I did the first time that was just too much, a quick spray up and down the stem getting the leaves real lightly.. hope this helps

I agree, I know a breeder that's made many thousands of feminized seeds and none of them ever hermied.
