Feminized Plants make Hermie

Anyone,

To my horror I have just been informed feminized seeds mostly turn hermie, picked a bud from my 6 week old PPP bables last night and it has seeds inside..oouch
I'v also just put 7 snow white feminized in the same room, suffice to say these are ruined I suppose, although the look fine right now

My question to you experts is ... i took cutting from the same plants, will these also turn out with similar charatheristics,

Cuttings of any plant is a clone and it will have the exact characteristics of its mother. The reason you had seeds in your bud is cause you do have a hermie but its extremely rare, not very common at all. You probley only had one of your female plants with male flowers on it and it polinated the others. In the future you need to be mindful of your preflowers, even if they are feminized seeds or even clones from a female mother. The pre flowers sometimes exist before the flowering cycle in a 12/12 photo period and will appear at the 4th to 5th week of the vegetative growth cycle, at the 4th to 6th innernode. In most all cases of hermies, you may only have a few or even only one male flower on the whole plant. So you have to take notice and do your best to catch it.

if I'm understanding you corretly, are you saying only some of the buds will have seeds and the rest will be fine on the effected plants? mostly likely all of the them thought, will be checking them at first light 7am "Irish time"

Thanks for your very detailed comments. much appreciated and of great help

No if one bud is infected, most likely all of them are. Due to the fact that once pollen is released into the air enough to pollenate one bud then its definitly has covered the whole room.

It could be in only one bud. If the male sac developed inside a bud then maybe the pollen did not make it out of the singe bud. I have seen it happen before. But you would have to be really lucky to have that happen. My first grow had one plant turn hermie and it pollenated the rest of the plants, so i know how you feel. You really need to check every plant daily to make sure that you dont get any hermies. You can either get rid of the hermie plant. Or you can spray the male parts with water and carefully cut them off the plant and get rid of it. I got one hermie this time and i did not want to chance it so i just cut the plant down and got rid of it. Personally i would get rid of the plant and not try to save it. I caught mine early enough that it did not pollenate the plants. Good Luck.

so much for that idea then,,,, cheers for your comments, still a bit green on the growing front... starting again to-morrow!! still not recovered from the shock!!

cheers

I have no idea but perhaps you could shed some light on the subject,

the reason i purchased these was to elimate this issue and here i am after spending £120 or $240 on 20 feminized seeds from Navana seed bank, 10 x ppp & 10 snow white, i have a room full of hermies with potentially every pant in the house effected.. I so cheesed off, nearly 3 month's of effort wasted not to mention the cost

i would fuckin lose it,almost killed someone yesterday because i went and checked my outdoor grow 1st 4 to fully flower fucking males!!!!!!!!
yanked em:spew: garden knowme would know!!!!!!

Fem seeds seem to turn hermi from the stress of the light cycle. The loss of 6hrs of light tricks the plant in thinking its veg stage was to short. When using fem seeds before cutting the light cycle I put them in 24 hrs light for 48 hrs then cut the light cycle back to 12/12. This seems to have fixed the problem for me.

should i try this method on the cuttings in the veg room, or just chuck them all??, the cutting are a month old and quite big and looking healthy, I was going to veg them in 2 weeks time .. please tell me there is some hope, been smoking my brains out all day trying to recover from the shock... i can't handle more bad news right now!!

thanks for your input, much appreciated
