Feminized Ice With CFLs

I just ordered some feminized Ice seeds and I'm planning on using CFLs to grow them in my basement.

If there is any advice you guys can give a first time indoor grower some advice, please feel free to share.

BTW, I havent bought the lights and fixtures yet, so if CFLs are too advanced I can try some Flos or something.

My space is about 5' x 5'. I have 3 fans and Im planning on doing a 2 room deally with CFLs.

Don't over water/feed and don't cry when your plants throw bananas from over feeding.

How many plants are you wanting to do? More plants more lights.

If you're wanting to do 2 rooms, I would assume you are willing to spend some money. Why not a HID? You could run flos or cfls in one for veg and hps in the other for flower.

Remember :Enough Light, Enough Air, Proper Temps, Light Tight and you should be good

Ideally Id have 5 plants, but I wont know for sure until I germinate. I figure at least 3, but you know how these things work...

And the only problem I have with HID is the price on the electric bill, if you know what I mean.

I plan on moving up to that after I get some money in the bank as a cushion.

Im thinking of doing a 43w CFL 6500k bulb with 2 smaller 23w 5500k bulbs for the veg room and switch the 23s with 23w 2700k bulbs for flowering.

Is that an effective way to use the CFLs?

Ur best bet is a small hps... my 400watt 12 hrs a day is like 30$.. 400watt is not a lot. I had 3 space heaters all are 1300watts each! I turned them off and use my gas heat and my bills droped and I grew.. you can flower with just cfls but u get more for your buck with hps.. a 1000watt hps puts out around 140,000 lumens, a 13 watt cfl is around 1000..u will need 140 cfls to match the hps. Now 140*13= 1820watts... ur best bet is a hps. Even a 250 watt. Don't get me wrong tho I love cfls I surround my plants with 150watt 2700k cfls for side lighting but my main bang is the hps..(hps puts out more heat tho gotta watch ur temps.)
