Search isn't working correctly, so who made the post about the Feit CFLs? Went to Lowe's, only had a few there... How does one get the 99 cent bulbs?

edit: nvm, found it. can't delete!

That was meeeeeee!

Yeah, I dont know man. They were just up near the front. I figure since they are only $0.99 im going to swing by and snag up a dozen or so.

went to another lowes today...didn't see them (called too...no one knew what I was talking about, I don't think they looked in the computer or anything, though). picked up the GEs from Walmart for a total of ~$22...meh.

Where is the best place to buy CFL's in general. I want somewhere with some variety. The homedepot website doesnt seem to have very many and Lowes website doesnt seem to have any..
Help? :D :D

IMO stay away from the "Bright Effects" brand they sell at Lowes. I believe they are made by Feit for Lowes. I can not find any information on the Kelvin spectrum of the bulbs I bought. I dont trust them. I am going to replace all 12 with something I know is correct spectrum.

Sounds like a waste of money IMO, I would just use them... color spectrum isn't extremely important...

I was never happy with those bulbs when I used them. Used them on two grows and threw them away and got others and been happy ever since.

I saved the boxes and reciepts...I am just going to take them back to Lowes and either get my money back or exchange them. Whatever works

I purely use bright effects bulbs and have great success. I found it weird though that i couldn't find the spectrum it was but you can clearly tell the difference between a veg bulb and a flower bulb so it was all good for me.

I returned all my Bright Effects bulbs today for store credit and picked up 6500K Sylvania bulbs. Same wattage but I know the spectrum on these. I will have 6x23w 6500K in my clone/mother box and 8x23w 6500K and 12x42w 3000K in my main box which will veg a little and flower. I think it will work.

Lots of CFLs going here...lol

Exactly... Not sure why dude would return them when all you have to do is turn it on and look...

Mainly because I could but aside from that I wanted to be sure of the spectrum as the bright white bulbs emit in the 4000k range and that wont work well for budding or veg. My eyes are not sensitive enough to distinguish between 3000k and 4000k but my plants will notice the difference. No harm, returned the bulbs and got bulbs that will work better for me. Now me and my plants are happy again.

I'll agree with your thinking. Having piece of mind on something is sometimes worth a few extra bucks.
