feirst harvest

im a newb that just harvested my first plants. The method im using is i first cut the branches into 12 to 24 inches. then trimmed them almost all the way down to normal looking buds. I then hung ropes across the rafters in a loft above my shed and hung the buds from there. I plan on doing this for about a week or so till the bud is smokable and the stems make that cracking sound. then i was going to go right inbto rthe jar curing method. does this sound like a suitable way? also i have no fan up there right rnow but am working on it. Do i really need it tho or is the fan unnecessary?

Trimming dry is way messier inmho. I always trim wet..done both...prefer wet... Looking good yes id get a fan blowing the air above them on low.

I find it easier to trim when wet too, it's easier and less work that way IMO. The leaves haven't shriveled yet and are sticking out so they seem to be easier to trim. After they dry some and shrivel it takes more work and time for me to trim them down to the bud.

Be careful about using a fan blowing directly on the buds while drying. I had mine in an open closet with the overhead fan in the room running....dried them a little too fast (2-3 days) You don't want stagnate air either tough. And of course it depends on the humidity levels. Where I live the air is pretty dry

Yes put the fan pointing away from the harvest... Do not
point it directly at the buds, maybe just turn it on for a few hours a day just to circulate the air
