Feeling Numb

im a relatively healthy guy. ive had pretty good luck n a good immune system in the past, so i dont have any serious physical complications. but i feel malnourished all the time. im about 6'4 and 160/170 lbs. im kinda strapped fer cash, so i eat just enough shit food to keep stomach pains away, then i get to work n drink cold coffee all day to keep me awake. ive been doin a little bit of reading up on diets and i think im gonna go with the raw foods diet when i get my shit together (for the next few months ill be paying off bills i need to take care of)

what i want to ask u guys is, do u feel numb when ur sober? maybe im just gettin older (im only turning 20 in june), but i dont feel temperature differences real well, it takes a while for me to notice if ive been cut (im talking flesh wounds, not impalement lol). ill wake up in the morning n i feel like a robot, really stiff back (i will get a sore back from time to time. every few days or so. i heard that potassium can help with blood circulation, so ill eat a banana from time to time) but then i smoke a bowl (maybe 2/3 times a week, always wake n bake) and i feel everything. ill feel like a crunched up paper ball, n ill seriously lay in bed stretchin muscles n popping joints for an hour. but afterwards, i feel pretty damn good.

so yeah, i know there isnt a panel of expert doctors in the forum, but have u guys had similar experiences to this? ive never brought this type of stuff up to my friends (all my smoker friends are overweight and bitch about their lounges n heart.) so for all i kno, this is completely normal, but im starting to get real curious.

Sounds like you are getting old. At 25 I had 40 year old lungs from smoking cigs since I was 14. I think a lot has to do with what you put into your body. I know its hard to do but try exercising and eating right. Pot will make some pains go away. Or make you forget them atleast.

WTF, man? You're just a kid! Take it from an old fart who is WAY past his prime ... Exercise, rest and proper diet is the key to feeling great. The human body is built to move, stretch, pull, push, walk and run. I have the following suggestions for you ...

1. When you're financially able, join a good gym. Work out five days a week. Use the treadmills and the weights. Also, start a stretching program. If you don't understand how to use the weights properly, ask someone.

2. Start reading the lables on the packages of all your food. Eliminate all trans-fat, Corn Syrup and High Fructose Corn Syrup from your diet. Eat five small meals a day. Start buying "organic" as much as possible. Stay off of processed foods and start eating whole foods. Eat lots of whole grains, fresh vegatables, fresh fruits. Take a general food supplement every day. Don't OD on vitamines though ... just a one-a-day type will do. If you smoke/chew tobacco products, stop. If you drink alcohol to excess, like more than two drinks a day, stop. If you can't get to the gym or can't afford it, start a walking program and build up to four miles a day in under an hour.

Also, be sure to give up Sodas ... both regular and diet. Drink only water ... its the beverage of champions. Regular sodas are loaded with High Fructose Corn Syrup and diet sodas are loaded with Aspartime.

Do all of the above and you will feel like a new person within two months.Good luck ...

Vi is 110% right, and if you can get by the day without the wake and bake, smoke at night just before bed to relax and get to sleep fast.

Not to try and overthink it but depression can have an adverse toll on your physical well being as well.

at 20 i felt like an old man. (now i feel kinda balanced) same sort of shit and i have the smame sort of stomach pain/wieght deal but i think i am closer to where you wanna be then i am 5 years older.

its all about what you do for your body. if its anything like Vi described then see a doc. otherwise start there because you probably partied really hard the last 2-3 years and its catching up with you.

oh yeah and uh LSD is not very good at relieving lower back pains. but you might forget for a while.

Thanks for the feedback guys. ive been slowly getting my mind back into the game, and now i guess my bodies just lagging a bit. im guessing that by my next bday comes around (june) ill be feeling better. im almost certain that im goin vegetarian soon (def organic). animal farms are way fucked up, and meat/dairy isnt even all that good for you. i might be going raw too. they say that a large amount of nutrients in food is destroyed during the cooking process.

so itll be nothing but veggies n fresh fish (i need to learn how to fish. ) and ill start jogging/lifting as soon as i get me a mp3 player. as for tobacco, ive been weaning myself off for the last few weeks. if i get any really uncomfortable cravings, i just pack my bowl with some tobac and hit it (bong)

next fall ill let u guys know how im feeling. (and this site better still be around. this is bar far my favorite place to check out on a reg basis.)

Are there health benefits to smoking at night rather the morning? i like the mood boost in the morning, and the bud ive been smoking lately tends to give me a secondwind at the end of the day, it might not help with sleeping

It's said that around 90% of everyday, human ailments are psychological. If you are working hard this can cause stress which will have an effect on your health.

Vi's right, there isn't really anything to beat the endorphin rush you get from pumping weights.

all u smoke is 2-3 bowls a week? btw if youre 6'4 & 160, i would DEFINENTLY say you're malnourished unless youre metabolism is high as hell. So smoke more weed & get on the weights & protein shakes ftw.

i will diagnose you with "The winter blahs". holidays are over. summer is a long way away. not a whole lot to get up too tomorrow. another day at work. another shitty meal. i've been there. i gone thru "life changes" sorta little "reality checks" within myself. winter is the perfect time to do it. just stay curled up under that nice warm blanket. it would be so easy. but no we have to get up in the cold. slam something to wake us. i got to where i was having cheeseburgers and soda at 7am because i woke up and got baked every day. (i still do) i predict an early spring. your troubles will end soon.

On the sodas ...

Regular sodas contain between nine and thirteen teaspoons of "sugar" in the form of High Fructose Corn Syrup in them. HFCS supresses the body's insulin level and causes type-2 diabetes. HFCS also shuts off the trigger in the brain that says: "Hey, I'm full ... so don't eat anymore!" The research I've done on this indicates that HFCS is the cause of America's Obesity and Type-2 diabetes epidemic.

Diet sodas contain Aspartame. This is known to cause depression, anxiety attacks and neurological problems in those who are alergic to it.

So guyz ... if you want to feel better right off the bat, give up ALL sodas and switch to a good bottled water. Hey, we only give our beloved plants pure RO water, right? So, why are we slugging down poison to "feed" our own bodies?
