feeding/watering question - container

I'm trying to plan ahead before my first grow and I've got a simple question. I'm wondering how I should be mixing up my food with my water.

I'll be growing 12 pure sativas (6 after preflower) in 8 gallon buckets since they'll get pretty big with a 14 week flower (no veg). Would I do it all in one container? Or will I need so much water (& food) that I will need to make the same food multiple times?

I'm just trying to figure out what to get to mix my food in so I can feed my plants as equally as possible.

easy

buy a water butt , mix it into that , use a ppm meter and its hard to mess it up given the amount of water there , mixing into buckets or bottles is hard , much easier with a bank of water

Ah I see, then you just gotta measure out per plant from the water butt, I'm guessing? What size container do you feel would be good for 12 plants (12 before preflower, selecting 6 for flower) in 8 gallon buckets?

I'm growing pure sativas so they'll get big

How do you know you will have 6 females?

I assume you're growing outdoors?

Why not mix up some good soil mix and forget about feeding them? There are recipies for "super soils" that require no supplemental feedings.

I guess youre growing indoors if you are force flowering them.

How big is your room? What is your lighting situation?

12 pure sativas? That is a pretty big undertaking.

Mix them in a trash can on a dolly. Use a pump and water wand to water plants.

There will only be 12 for the first 3 weeks. After that preflowers should reveal the males and I'll picky any unhealthy females out. My room is 11.5L 9.5W 10H. I'm putting them in a donut vert setup with 2 1000w HPS's hanging in the middle.

Sounds like a nice setup. That is good lighting and height.

I would still recommend the trash can/tote bin to mix nutes and a water pump connected to a water wand for reaching plants. Have a good system to catch runoff and channel it to a place where you could drain it.

Yeah I need to think of somethin for the runoff. I actually have a drain in the middle of the room so I should be able to utilize that somehow. What do people normally use for catching runoff? Some sort of drip pan?

Check out this it may help with the next time around.

Above is a link to a super soil recipe like MYOB mentioned.
I use this super soil it works great the only thing you do is water with plain water.
Everything the plant is going to need is in the soil and available when the plant needs it.
Its organic too.
Its very easy on the wallet compared to the bottles of over priced nutrients.
And I think it works just as good if not better.
