Oh great. Close out specials? All you can grasp with one hand discounts?

And those wacky FEDS, they'll probably raid on 4-1 at 4:20.

Yea but then again prolly bullshit, these rumors hit all the time. If the FBI was going to really start raiding you would here it afterward. They don't broadcast there coming to your town anytime soon lol.

my question to you is this: why are you so against additional options for patients to obtain medicine?

obviously, enough people don't mind paying whatever these clubs charge, otherwise no clubs would exist. so we can infer that these clubs have a demand, create more options for patients to obtain medicine, and offer wide varieties of strains that offer patients more options for medicating. why are you so against this?

not everyone can be a weed mooch like you, ya know.

They are clipping the montana ones, and their repeal is stalled in the senate after passing the house vote huge for repeal of mmj. So as their state law is still in effect, good for the patients, but feds trump on the large multipatient grows. Or clubs or shops. IMO

Sorry, but the FBI has very little to do with drug busts, that's mostly the DEA and they don;t share information like they should. I find it hard to believe, as the President of the U.S., everyone serving under him in Justice has been ordered to let states exercise a bit of sovereignty in regards to voter approved MMJ laws. If feds are indeed coming, it's to help local cops busts thoses working outside of the laws established in the state.

You have to wonder about the timing. On the very same morning that a Montana Senate committee failed to endorse a bill that would have repealed the state's medical marijuana law, federal agents, with guns drawn, hit at least 10 dispensaries across the state Monday.

"The timing is impeccable," said Chris Lindsey, a Missoula attorney who specializes in medical marijuana cases, reports Gwen Florio of The Missoulian.

"They're seizing everything -- plants, marijuana, grow equipment, files and computers," Lindsey said. "It's very, very broad in its scope." The attorney said he retains a business interest in Montana Cannabis, one of the dispensaries where federal search warrants were executed.

Employees and clients stood around outside the Missoula branch of Montana Cannabis early Monday afternoon. The shop shut down after Monday morning's raid.

"We're closed," said employee Toni Ware to clients as they pulled up to the shop. "We're closed," she repeated.

"They even took our cannabis-infused lotion," Ware said a minute later.

Included in the federal raids was the huge Montana Cannabis greenhouse in Helena, with agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI, with Lewis and Clerk County and the Helena Police Department taking part, according to The Associated Press.

At least eight people were led away from the greenhouse in handcuffs, according to the AP report. Employee Brett Thompson, 30, said federal agents questioned each worker individually and then released them, except for one worker who had an outstanding warrant, reports CNBC.

Inside, agents in DEA and FBI jackets wearing respirator masks and blue gloves jerked waist-high plants from their pots and hauled them away out of sight, wrapped in blue tarps.

Montana Cannabis co-owner Christopher Williams told The Associated Press that raids were taking place at other dispensaries, including Big Sky Patient Care in Bozeman, at MCM in Belgrade and at Good Medicine Providers in Columbia Falls.

"It's strictly a political move to stop us from providing medicine to sick people," said Williams, standing outside the fence at Montana Cannabis.

Barbara Trego, Williams's mother and another worker at Montana Cannabis, said some of the people who use the company's marijuana are cancer patients and she feared what would happen to them if the operation shut down.

"We weren't trying to hide anything," Trego said. "Our windows are open. Our door was open. We've got patients that could die just by what's happened today."

Williams said of the 1,680 plants inside the greenhouse near Helena, 480 were flowering plants that produce about five ounces of marijuana each. He said he sells ounces for $190, meaning about $456,000 worth of marijuana was "seized" from that one location.

"Word is coming in literally as we speak," said Kris Hermes, spokesman for Americans for Safe Access (ASA), a national group which advocates for medical marijuana patients.

Like Lindsey, Hermes noticed that the raids coincided with Montana's legislative action.

"This smacks of officials, whether law enforcement or hostile local public officials, not getting their way and sidestepping the democratic process to shut down legitimate providers," Hermes said.

According to Americans for Forfeiture Reform, the raids appeared to be "smash and grab" operations, where businesses which are legal under state law have their cash, inventory, computers, bank accounts, and other property violently seized by federal agencies who directly profit from those seizures.

"Worse, since these seizures can happen prior to any criminal charges being filed, victims are often unable to obtain paid representation by an attorney," Eapen Thampy wrote at the AFR site.

The federal warrants were sealed, according to the U.S. Attorney's office in Helena.

i am not against patients finding other methods of getting medicine as long as it is legal, these clubs or dispensaries are not legal so thats why i am against it and if it was legal id be for it but since it is not it makes alot of medical users look bad and makes it harder on them to keep theri card. and most the people that go to the clubs have a shitty grower that gives them shit meds at a high price or they are disabled witch i can understand. but it is not impossible to find a good grower you just got to weed out the fucking money hungry growers who are in it only for money and not to help.

and im no weed mooch i just get great growers for myself.
and like i said if what the clubs and dispensaries were LEGAL u would be all for it

by that same logic, you can not support the right of recreational smokers to enjoy cannabis.

since it is not it makes alot of medical users look bad and makes it harder on them to keep theri card.
what part of patients providing other patients medicine makes the medical community look bad?

and how does it make it harder for me to keep my card? these clubs are up and going, yet i just went and renewed my card without issue.

and most the people that go to the clubs have a shitty grower that gives them shit meds at a high price or they are disabled witch i can understand.
how can you say this, yet also admit (like you have in other threads) that you have never been to these clubs?

how do you know who goes into cannabliss if you have never been there?

did you ever consider that patients who are just starting their grows may visit these clubs until their harvest comes in?

i would like you to provide evidence for your assertions, or just shut the fuck up.

you expect your weed to be free. forget the fact that the grower is the one doing you a favor and burning through hundreds of dollars in electric and other supplies and utilities...

that is classic weed mooch.

and like i said if what the clubs and dispensaries were LEGAL u would be all for it
again, if you use this (shitty) logic, you must also be willing to say that you do not support the use of cannabis by ANYONE unless it is LEGAL, ie no smoking of the herb unless you register yourself.

why are you so against cannabis and cannabis users?

Good post, Uncle Buck! I find it funny this dude tries to win this argument because he says legal growers are selling their meds illegally. But he openly admits that he goes to the black market, meaning ILLEGAL GROWERS THAT STILL CHARGE FOR MEDS!!!!!!?????!!!!! I am astounded at the hypocrisy! So sad to see someone try to bit the hand that feeds them.

Also, when I first started growing, it took 5 months for me to have my own meds ready. During that 5 months, a patient still needs medicine, especially if it is for something like cancer or AIDS. So during that time, these places offer a clean place, where one can go and procure the meds they need until they can navigate a grower or situation that works for them.

Also, by having access to more medical grade cannabis, us growers can "up the bar" on our own operation, by sharing information and getting to try quality meds, not just read about them and look at pictures. I have become pretty knowledgeable about many different strains, and probably doubled my progression on knowing strains and genetics.

McPurple is happy buying weed illegally, which comes from people growing it illegally. Fact is he admits he does not go to the clubs, and therefore is really, very ignorant on how much you can learn. But he is not interested in learning anything, he just wants to move his yapper.

He also has admitted to being a felon, so no wonder he thinks he will lose his rights to his medicine.....because he cannot seem to keep his ass out of trouble. Common sense is, too often, an obstacle the ignorant cannot get over.

hay guys Great post's, just got my card a few months ago, what timing!!! I was wondering if the IRS has something to do with all this or the Mexican drug lords are making some sizable contrabutions to the election canpains, I think it's a good thing that we can grow for ourselves. I am not understanding why all of this is even happening. MJ

What the hell? Unless I misread his post he gets meds from growers just like every other ommp patient should do. What "black market" are you talking about? Do you have any idea how ommp works?

Purplehazin, this is something that has been going on in 2 or 3 Oregon Medical Marijuana threads. Mcpurple has admitted that he pays 150 on black market on another thread. That is all. He has said that he thinks growers that get donations for their meds should be arrested. I think as long as a grower takes care of his cardholders, he can take small donations from other patients that are not his. In fact, it is written in the law that we can recoup expenses, not including labor. I, myself, do not really take donations, but I have debated whether I should start, and go to a club and recoup some expenses. Seems like a good idea, just to keep growers growing, without breaking them? Anyways, not trying to argue, just had this guy all over Oregon threads, and not really making much sense, just trying to argue with folks.

Well, I think in a round a bout way, the point being made is your idea of the gray area, i.e. growers getting reimbursed from any patient, instead of THEIR patients they have paperwork for, is the same as the way the clubs look at it. And we'll see if they get popped or not in the near future. You are correct though, I suspect that they aren't concerned with smaller grows, but the guys doing multpatient grows, and doing what you're doing with the excess, that's where complaints come from. Just saying. Piss enough patients off and see what happens. The law was set up giving all the power to the patient and many multigrowers with ulterior motives just absolutely hate that, they want all the power. LOL No wonder OR is never mentioned in the same breath as CA or CO....?! And many are going monthly to Salem to protest the tweaking of the laws, they get told don't worry, blah blah blah, and believe the politicians......HAHAHA. You can't believe politicians. And this thought of national decriminalization is a pipe dream. look around, AZ new law, 2.5 oz poss, cant grow within 25 miles of dispensary, how's that for a mmj law? With laws like that, the feds don't have to come in, its pretty restrictive to begin with.JMHO, but we'll have to see how it plays out. Oregonians have set on their hands for 10 yrs, not building a mmj lobby, and now in the last couple yrs, everyone hopping up and down, like its something new:clap:You've waited too long to have the politicians in your back pocket, and if we get a repub prez, we'll see how the next term goes. I am not optimistic. They'll keep trying to get minors out of program, now many minors get prescribed morphine? And the felon thing, Im not a felon, so I have no problem with that one.......seems like the big big busts are repeat offenders or ex felons, I suspect that is their reasoning on that deal. It gonna get to be a mess if we ain't careful.

Hey Mcpurple did you get your ommp card back, or are you still on probation? I remember reading about it somewhere on a thread.

I may disagree with some of what you say, but I appreciate the intelligent conversation. I think we can all be reasonable. I do not think Republicans will win an election for a while, though, so not worried about that.

And just so you know, I do not get donations from other patients, just been looking into how that works with the co-op/clubs to make back some expenses. I have never been in trouble with the law, so I am watching how this develops. Growing indoors is expensive....lights, electricity, new bulbs, soil, nutes, equipment, etc. Right now, I have paid those. Not my patients.
