Hey Forum, I am curious as to what is your favorite Grow Shop in the Valley based on knowledge, willingness to help and pricing?

I am thinking of adding another 600W HPS and am about out of nutes...

I have been to Sea of Green in Tempe and the grow shop on Southern across from Mesa Community College. I would give them both a B-

Thanks - j

I know the indoor nature store on 24th Street and Thomas has good deals on lights, hoods, and ballasts. The shop owner told me he would hook me up with a 1000 HPS, Ballast , and Raptor Hood for 420.00 ( thats a pretty good deal the Raptor hood alone is close to 300 bucks.

They sell everything. They are a big company. Probably the only grow store in the valley where you can get everything even nematodes, preying mantis, predatory mites, mini split AC's. Bummer they didnt help they always talk to me, remember dude they probably know as much as you.

I suggest doing your homework first and then going to the grow store chances are when you ask us, we have used a lot of the products in their stores, for instance if I havent used XYZ nute line maybe Bird has. Shit I was at The Depot and they just got in House and Garden Nutes and they were barely doing research so the only info they have is the info they got off the web on most of their products. Here we actually have tested and used most of the shit they sell so we can tell you what works and what is crappy equipment.

back in 1998 or so, i used to go to a place in tempe that sold hydro supplies and bean bag chairs, relaxing pillows, and other 60s type stuff. i bought a couple of good pillows from them! :) i think it was ACI hydro.

these days, i usually go to sea of green in tempe but they went through a stretch where they didn't have some of the basics so i started using the one on broadway. they're both friendly and well stocked. i used to sea of green in phoenix for years. if i go to sea of green at 10:05 again, only to find a sign saying back at noon, i'll stop going there permanently!

i don't buy online and only pay cash for growing supplies. the online stores know what's up and i'm not giving my CC info and address to anybody. the fact that it seems that the war on us is heating up makes me think this is a good policy to continue.

i need to find some ozium 3000 refills but last time i tried to buy some, i had three different stores take my money and then send me emails saying they were out of stock. i tried to buy a 12 pack and the same thing happened. i just want to buy 3 or 4. i can't find any info on why these are hard to find. it's annoying!

Yeah I dont buy anything on line. I'm one of those guys if I'm gonna shell out dough for something I want to have it in my hand and take it home that day. I actually have been to most of the hydro shops in the valley for a while the only ones available were Sea of Green and Home Grown Hydro then the law passed and new stores opened up left and right. I honestly go to 3-4 different grow stores, I never find everything I need for a grow from one store. Plus I like walking around in the grow stores and just looking at all the different shit.

i stick with SOG because them and ACI were the only games in town when i started. i'm a loyal customer until you piss me off. i saw a video of a superstore in cali, and i would love to wander through there with a couple thousand in hand.

i also have a safe address, where if i really need something that's online, i'll have him order it. seeds etc never come to me!

Good rule of thumb. I never order seeds to my house either. I used to send them to the girl friends house but now she lives with me ....lol

SOG (Bell rd) has been my go to store. A new store with an excellent grower & guy that's been in the mmj field for well over 10 yrs opened not too far from me near 75th ave & Peoria, GREENLIFE. 623 487 0148. A great place to exchange & run ideas past. Hope He makes it, been having a lot off startup problems, like no sign out on the road etc.

I still go to SOG but my favorite store is hydroponics depot. I like having options when I go to a place and they always seem to have lots of different products. fatboyogof; I would give hydroponics depot a call about the ozium they might have what you are looking for they have a little display with a bunch of their products.

There is also a homegrown on mcklintock and brodway I THINK. I went there and he really knew what he was talking about. Openly talked about MMJ with me and was willing to discount everything. He still couldn't match my HTG order so I went with them. Great guy though

i find they have the most knowledgeable staff. also some of the people that work at SOG really know their shit. some just are there to unload pallets of FFOF. i usually go to the best deal because i do all my research prior to buying a product. i find SOG has the best prices on nutrients especially with added discounts and such. equipment is a little harder. all the big established stores will rape you on lights, fans, etc. if you go to the smaller shops they are usually willing to deal. i bought a 600 hps for the same price i saw online because i asked the guy if he would price match and he said yeah. there are also certain products that can only be found with certain stores. homegrown for instance is the main dealer of hydrofarm equipment and canna nutrients. SOG distributes sunsystem and CAP products and the shop on 24th and thomas is the only place i have found cyco nutrients. above all though i woul stick with one store and show them your loyalty. growers are returning customers who are always buying more nutrients, equippment, soil, etc. the stores know this and want to keep you as a regular. i go to SOG mostly and i have developed relationships with a few guys that worked there. i was in there the other day picking up some hygrozyme or something and i started asking about a new line of nutes coming out from advanced (jungle juice). i was talking to the guy about it for a while. he said they just got some in stock and brought out 3-1 liter bottles of the grow, bloom and micro. in the end i go to pay and he does not charge me for the 3 bottles, says they have not come out yet and they are not in his system so he wont charge me. hooks it up for nothing, i did not even ask or hint at all. this kind of customer service makes me wanna go and buy my next bottle of nutes from them rather than anyone else.
