Faster growth in Soil rather than Hydro

Interesting, huh?

Transplanted my plants into soil from hydro yesterday.

And overnight I have seen each and every one of them give some serious growth to the side shoots. The ones that grow on top of the original leaves on the main cola.

So screw it, I'm going to use the hydro system only for cloning now.

Soil ftw!

yea I have never used hydro but readin most people on here it seems like way too much of a pain in the azz. Fox Farms ocean forest mix is the bomb dont even have to give nute for 3-5 weeks and then you dont need much from there. I love soil you basically just put your lights and fans on timers water every few days and really not much else. much easier and you can get just as much of a yeild the only benifit ive heard is maybe hydro is a little faster if you dont have problems

I'm a dirt farmer. Been playing with the cloner with good results most of the time. I have some freinds doing hydro and there plant blow mine away every time.

I've been lurking around these boards a lot and honestly I got the impression that while in theory hydro grows more/better/faster, the best looking plants are from soil.

I'm also trying to figure out how to use the heat from the ballast to own gain. Perhaps put a metal sheet on it, and place the DWC reservoir on top? Or I might just have some boiled roots.

The hydro system is just too expensive and complicated for me. Also much higher maintenance I suppose for some people it's idea as it really does let you just control every little tiny thing you can possibly think of.
I'm a gardener though, so I will always prefer soil, because I know what to expect of it. My only issue with soil is that my organic stuff doesn't cycle wet to dry as fast as I'd like, and is probably slowing growth just a little, but aside from that I can't really think of any negatives... of course I am in this just for myself, I have absolutely no intention of ever distributing my results. Odds are if I ever even smoke it with friends I will tell them I got it elsewhere. Some people want to see a profit from their results and I guess a fast turn over system is the best thing for them. As far as I'm concerned it can take me six months or more to see my results so long as they are good ones.

I started the same seeds in SOIL and in HYDRO with Feeder Tubes at the same time.
Compare the two.
Also note the growth of the plants in hydro in 3 or 4 days.

What I'm thinking is that at an early stage you need to develop the root system. Hydro allows you to do so. Once it's developed, transplant into soil.

At least that's gonna be my experiment. I am seeing SO MUCH side growth right now - both on the topped and non-topped plants. I honestly haven't seen that kind of growth on nay pics.

And no, I'm not gonna show pics because I'm paranoid :P

My last soil grow is just about done. I'm going to try the deep water hydro. hope to cut the plants in half and dbbl. the yeild. and harvest once a month. I'm not sold on me doing hydro the the guy says it's ez.
