Yeah get em while they still sell em. I heard that in 2020 HID lamps will also be banned. I could see fluorescents including CFLs being banned, if that's not already part of the plan. LED is the only thing that doesn't contain toxic waste, except maybe electroluminescent, but that's only about 10 lm/w.

I prefer leds personally but my ex sold my area 51s and them shits are expensive
I could see incandescents being phased out all the way idk about hid or fluorescents but wouldn't surprise me

That Brendan guy from SK said it in a video, that HIDs would be banned in 2020. Maybe he just meant California. They're pretty tight there.

the far red thing was not as productive for me, I didn't use a black light I used an Infrared light. I have also tried the 24 hour blue light thing, it didn't do much either

How does gaslight help? They only use that for Chrysanthemums because it's in a greenhouse in the winter and too long of nights, don't they? You're actually subjecting them to a non-diurnal photoperiod. All you gotta do is give em 15 hours light. That's enough to prevent flowering in all known strains while still being easy on power.

I myself was using a non-standard cycle until just recently, repeating 5/3 cycles. It was still 15 hours of light per day but growth was less than impressive. Then I read an article about intermittant light where they tried different on times with equal off times and they started with 12/12 and worked down. The next entry was for 1/1 and photosynthesis had dropped way down at that point, and got lower after that until it got to fractions of a second. So I figured the repeating short cycles was probably reducing growth so I went to straight 15/9. They do look better. 12/5.5/1/5.5 is not a natural photoperiod and I strongly suspect will reduce growth. Granted it's only in veg so not that big a deal. You're only saving 2 hours of power over 15/9 though.



If you think gaslight helps transition to flowering faster or whatever, I read that after a long day cycle, meaning presumably a long day and a short night, flowering will be inhibited by a couple days, meaning the inductions won't take effect. The long day cycles produce an inhibition. But they said that if you give 24 hours of dark after the long day cycle it will neutralize the inhibiting effect. So that's the answer right there, 24 hours dark when you go from veg to flower.
