Fanning my Outdoor Potted plants

Hi, this is my first grow and i've got a question about strengthening my plant.

I have my plants growing in pots that I keep outdoors with the rest of my garden. My plant is about 2 and a half inches tall with about 4-5 leaves on it. I live in Southern California about 17 miles away from the beach, so we get a subtle breeze during the day. I was wondering If putting a simple box fan ( http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50551852/Sell_Box_Fan.jpg) pointed directly at my plant for a couple hours at night in my backyard would benefit the plant. Would this help strengthen my main stem, or is this just unnecessary overkill? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanx.

It may help, and I did it to my plant, but make sure its a very slight breeze and the leaves aren't being thrown around. You will actually be fine without it, and it probably is overkill.

Outside plants naturally grow thick stems, usually. Just from the plant moving around to follow the sun, and from the breeze. It'll buff up in time.

on one of my grow sights, it was litterally on the water (near salt water) and this means the plants are subject to very strong winds (up to 60mph). one of the plants when they were little blew over and was snapped. I taped her and she's still growing. as for the rest of them, i never staked them up and now that there around 40" tall, the stalk is just very very thick. so just let the plant decide what to do, their smarter than you think :;
