can anyone figure out why this fan isnt working? ive tried both and both arent working...meanwhile here are my babiesi

Try them in a different outlet.

reverse the polarity, switch the wires around.

I'm not sure if that USB charger puts out enough voltage. Can you fine one of those older phone chargers?

I'm pretty sure it's the USB cable. You have to remember that USB is first and foremost a protocol for connecting/communicating between two devices, and as a second function it can provide power. You might be wiring one of the fan wires to a bus that carries power and another bus for data.

"The USB 1.x and 2.0 specifications provide a 5 V supply on a single wire to power connected USB devices. The specification provides for no more than 5.25 V and no less than 4.75 V (5 V ± 5%) between the positive and negative bus power lines. For USB 3.0, the voltage supplied by low-powered hub ports is 4.45–5.25 V." - Wikipedia

So that may explain why you aren't getting power to the fans. Go grab yourself some 12v adapters from Goodwill (I got one for about $2) and use that to wire up your fans. I could also be completely wrong lol. Hope that helps some!

the fans input is 12v but these chargers have an input of 100v or higher so what do i do? preferably electronics know it all people

Cutting a USB cable like that is a good way to trickle charge a cell phone with a missing charger. As mentioned however, they only supply about 5 volts so that would have to be about the normal operating voltage of the computer fan.

I agree..... Don't use USB
look for an old adaptor, whether it be for a charger or whathaveyou... i am using a 9v charger cord that i spliced to the two ends. The voltage will be in small letters on the sticker on the plug of the adaptor.

Never use clear pots/containers.
alge will grow and steal your nutes from your plant and roots cant grow in light.
