Hi people.

I an looking for a fan, or to know how Many cfm i Would need to cool the lights down. 2x600w hps lights.

Anyone knows ?

I don't know man.. Depends on the space you have them in and if your using ac or not, i'm in a 5x5 tent atm and am having a bitch time controlling and figuring out how to keep the temps ideal in there(no ac), I have a 400 cfm 2650rpm fan blowing air across the hood and I have a little booster fan taking air out of the tent at the top like a chimney, along with 2 house fans on the floor, I don't know if its a good setup or not but ive been moving it around and trying dirrfernt things

Yeah, but when the lights are aircooled in hoods, the room size shouldnt matter i Think ? But its a 8x4 tent.... I use a approx 1300 cfm as outlet in the tent, with a scrubber.. Its connected to a variac controller.

I just need to know what cfm a fan connected only to the lights should have approx.

if its an independent line just for the lights, max it out n put it on a timer w/ 15-30min cushion on each side of your 12/12.

Make sure u got fresh cool air from somewhere tho, and keep that air moving under the lights.... I am running 2 600hps + a 400mh on my light loop w/ a 6" hydrofarm centrifugal fan, still need the portable A/C in the summer if I want max lights... (if i had a chiller I would jack up the CO2 instead n let the room run low 80's but... I dont)

And I promote portable A/C's to anyone doing a grow that can't afford a mini-split.... so much easier to make light tight, and easy to run all year long...

But yea, go max spin on a good inline fan... dont try to make the minimum needed, or to save money... fans are a big component in the grow room environment.

Use your variac on the intake so ur just at the point of maintaining negative pressure against the exhaust, max the lights n exhaust fans.

Also a big fan of stickin a cheapo meat thermometer into the vent tubing right before the fan after the last light... if u do want to adjust fan speed, its your guide, if u wanna add lights or filters, it lets you know if the fans keeping up, etc.

Dont wanna push 110f air thru the fan, ya know.... Mine runs 85-90 w/ 1400w...
