fan help

I'm no expert, but I'll bump this up and give you my input. The CFM on a fan means more than the size. When I went and bought mine the 8" fan moved about 180 CFM, the 6" was 280 CFM. It would also depend on what you are using it for. Is it for exhaust, filtration, light cooling, or maybe intake? Just my opinion.:peace:

well i needed one for the intake and one for exhaust. im just looking to keep a steady temperature in my space.

Do you need to worry about smell? The way I've read it's best to do it is, to have a fan for exhaust/filtration and a fan to cool your lights. It is best to have a passive intake. Depends on how big your cabinet is and your light how big is that?

yes smell is deffinitly a factor. i was planning on using carbon filter on exhaust fan. i also have a little office fan for the inside to cool my lights. i was planning on just using cfl lights but that is not carved in stone.

A vortex fan would be the best intake and exhaust fans imo.but if you r using cfls u can use duct booster fans.I don't think it will be able to push thru a carbon filter tho.
