I really need to figure out what exactly I am doing wrong. This is getting agrevating as hell!
Ok, My first attempt at cloning went perfect, this is what I did.
I took scissors and cut of a few clones. I then took and cut the angles in the stems. I dipped them in my clonex gel, placed them in 1.5" rockwool, then placed them in a 2 gal fish tank.
I covered the tank with plastic, and 3 times a day I sprayed them with fish water, and covered them back up.
2 weeks later I pulled them out of the fishtank and placed them in bigger cubes, hooked them up to a drip system, and long story short they are flowering as we speak.
They always looked healthy from day 1 till now.
On my second go around, I did the exact same thing until like 3 days before I removed them from the fishtank. I had a piece of plexiglass cut so I could install some spray nozzles and hook them up to a pump and now could automatically water them so I didnt have to be home 3 times a day everyday! I also bust out the bottom of the tank and put in a plexiglass bottam with 2 drain holes drilled in it. I ran the fish tank for the last 3 days and removed them as I had done on my first attempt.
Everything looked fine so far.
Just like the first time, I hooked them up to drip nozzles and stopped spraying them. Within a day they looked bad. I assumed that their roots hadn't grown enough to stop foilage feeding them, so for the next few days I continued to spray them, but they all died anyway.
Ok so lets try again. This time I wont remove them until I see roots coming out of the rock wool.
I also did the prep like I'm supposed to this time. Cut the clone, razor bladed the angle, soaked the rockwool, etc etc etc!
I placed them in the fish tank, placed on the lid, and plugged in the pumps, and everything seemed great. The plants were watered on their leaves 3 times a day.
By the end of the second week, still inside the fishtank, the leaves started shrivling up. This is the same thing they were doing after 24 hours outside of the fishtank. I decided to investigate.
I pulled out one of the clones and everything looked ok. I could see a few roots going into the rockwool. The rockwool was full of water. Like a sponge fully saturated. I had heard that you cant over water rockwool, but something had to be wrong. I gently squeezed the rockwool to get alot of the water out (just in case over watering is the problem) and placed them back in the fish tank. I unplugged the pump to water them, and started spraying the leaves again. It has been 48 hours and it looks like its getting worse. I think I am going to lose this batch as well.
So just in case I did, I thought I would post this here and see if anyone could see a problem with what I'm doing.
BTW the humidity has ALWAYS been around 85 since day 1. And the temp has stayed between 85-90 since day one. I know for a fact these conditions arn't the problem.
I have this thread set to instant email, so I will be here to answer any questions you may have.
Why am I loosing all my clones?
