Alright so i just received 5 fem Master Kush seeds from Nirvanashop and i have all 5 of them in some sort of germination stage which i will clarify later. I got Master Kush because it is bushy as opposed to tall, good for beginners and outdoors. I grew a plant from seed last year around the same time but did not keep a grow journal. It ended up being a male, so i stopped babying it and grew it purely as a hobby until my dog chewed it down. I am now keeping a grow journal and this is the beginning. If you have any suggestions by all means share! I get plenty of sunshine out here in southern California and i am growing them all outside from the start in pots filled with soil (3 directly sown and two germinating in towels). The peat pots can be directly planted in a larger pot so i wanted to experiment with them too.
Supplies:
-Nestle PureLife bottled water
-FoxFarm Ocean Forest Soil
-5 fem Master kush seeds
-2 1.5" starter peat pots (had to cut my own drain holes)
-3 12 oz Solo cups with holes cut into them
-ceran wrap, paper towl, and a plate for germination
***i am doing several different starting methods to experiment and see which one works best, i want to compare the 5 from start to finish to find the best method.
Start 04/01/2012-Germinations
+placed half a sheet of paper towel on small plate and watered it til soaked but not dripping. Placed first and second seed on paper towel, covered it with second paper towel, and soaked again (not dripping). I then ceran wrapped it and placed in my garage.
+planted third seed with soil in soaked peat pot. watered until dripping out of drain holes and left in sun.

+first and second seeds not germinated (18 hours later, i think it was too cold in the gargage) so i put them in my drawer and covered with socks to keep warm. will check in 24 hours.
+ third seed left in sun in peat pot
+fourth seed planted in second peat pot with soil and placed in sun. watered until dripped from bottom.
+fifth seed planted in Solo cup filled about 3/4 with soil and placed in sun. watered until dripped from bottom.
*Plan on putting both towel-germinated seeds in Solo cups with soil. The peat pots are small and are drying out fast, so i am not particularly leaning towards planting anymore in the peat pots.
**So to sum it up i have two in peat pots with soil planted a day apart. I have one planted in soil in 12oz Solo Cup, and two germinating in a paper towel in my drawer. I know its early but i am new to this and hope i am doing everything right from the start. I plan to grow all 5 seeds, really hoping they all germinate. I want to compare the three methods (sowed in small peat vs large Solo cup, and germinating in towel first)...thanks for any help!
