2_yes you add nutes to that water, you need hydroponic fertilizer which are different to soil fertilizers, basically in the form of nitrogen present in them. hydro ferts have only nitrate for of nitrogen. to know how much ferts to add you need a ppm(part per million) meter to test the solution.

4_it depends. sometimes you might feel like the plants are a bit over ferted and would want to lower the ppm other times you want to raise it, but a general rule is that you top with 1/2 strength. a ppm meter is key here

some people change every couple weeks other go the whole grow by topping and adjusting ppm. it's a matter of experience. i personally change it 3 times all through flowering of 70 days or so. after the last change, i'm approaching end of flowering so i go for 20 days with it as usual then i only top with ph'd water till the end. i don't do a flush. in terms of water usage, 40 gallons every couple weeks is not much

You already had an active thread going on this subject . . . Why post this one ???

In short order . . .

#1 - YES
#2 - YES and YES that is How it works . . . A+B or Boost+Bloom + cal/mag or microbloom or what ever your "Recipe for Success" may be . . .
#3 - Yes you can top off with Ph'd water
#4 - Yes or No - Google "Lucus Formula" or Lucus Ratio"

I change my Reservoir once every 7 days. Sometimes more, sometimes less depending on the number of plants,
the size of the plant, Plant uptake or PPM in the Reservoir, Flowering cycle etc . . .

Sometimes a Google search will turn up more usefull info than a perticular web-sites search engine . . . GL

HABIT

Ok so I have a few questions... I've never grown hydro so I have no knowledge of how it works.

1-Say I was using THIS Ebb & Flow System in my flowering room (clones straight to 12/12 after rooting) - it has a 40 gal reservoir so I fill it with 40 gallons of ph adjusted water right?

2- Do I add nutes to that 40 gallons? If so how much? I'm used to soil at 15ml nutes/gal.. So that'd be 600ml of nutes for a 40gal res which doesn't seem right so I assume thats not how it works... can you explain that to me if I was using Advanced Nutrients micro, grow, bloom?

3- When the water level goes below the full line in the reservoir I add ph adjusted water?

4-Do I add nutes to THAT water?

I know these are probably simple questions but I can't find straight answers anywhere. I keep reading I should replace the res water every other week but that seems like alot of water. I also read don't replace it just keep topping off the res when its below the full line and it'll be fine. which is right? Thanks for any help.
