Expanding into new mediums

Hey all,

For my next grow I'd like to switch to a soilless medium while retaining 7 gallon pots. I've been exploring expanded clay pellets as well as various Coco products. Would either of these be properly suited for container use? Would be for approximately 25-30 plants.
