Exo-Terra Heat Glo woes

So swim has been growing for a good 9 months now and is a fairly competent gardener, his experience has been only autos until december though. After gathering lots of knowledge and having an easy time growing autos he wanted to have a go at the real stuff.

In the beginning everything seemed to be going fine, but being Winter here he started to get some mould and temperature problems so instead of buying a heater he went for a Heat Glo infra red reptile bulb to accompany his T5 setup. Vegetation was going great after that, fiming and toping led to many healthy colas.

So flowering begins, things are very quiet for the first week, not much growth. Week 2 brings some new vegetative growth but not much else, he begins to trawl the web for sexing info and why it would be taking so long, he starts panicking that it might be a male.

Week 3 comes and with still no sign of sexing and new flowering troubleshooting knowledge, he turns off the Heat Glo lamp at night.

Suddenly next day there is some progress, no sex yet but some definite growth. As an extra precaution he then also reduces the amount of time the Heat Glo is coming on during the daytime. 4 days later... HAIRS not many, but they're there.

And now on the 5th day, lots of hairs, quite obvious now. So now everything is going smoothly, his daytime temp is between 26 and 29 Celcius and night time temps are 13-17 Celcius. Growth has rocketed in the last few days. 4/5 weeks of "flowering" for nothing but the plant is still very healthy.

Previously daytime temps were averaging 33 but sometimes as high as 38.

So my conclusion and reason for posting this thread is to let you all know that Heat Glo lamps, and generally consumer infra-red lamps, do mess up a plants light cycle. Do not use them at night.
