Everything Star Wars Thread

So... just wanted to start a thread about Star Wars. There is a new series coming out, the Executive Producer is John Favreau. It's called "The Mandelorian." This motivated me to create this thread. I suppose this series will be about Bobba Fett. Anyways, feel free to talk about any of the EU stuff. Also just got done playing Knights of the Old Republic 2 on Steam.

Anybody excited for the new series?

These are the droids you’re looking for:
C-3PO is a Humboldt County hybrid that was created by Petrolia Farms. This herb has low 1% THC count and high 12-15% CBD count. C-3PO’s levels making it an excellent choice for medical marijuana patients suffering from depression and stress, just like its robotic, neurotic namesake. Once you partoke, you might say, “Thank the maker. This oil bath is going to feel soooo good!” Smoke it in a ceramic C3P0 inspired bong.

R2-D2 Kush is an Indica-dominant hybrid strain, that smells reminiscent of Pine Sol, which come to think of it, is probably what R2-D2 smells like when he needs an oil bath. Smoke it in an R2-D2 inspired dab rig or pipe. Combine your love of Star Wars and Reggae music with the adorable Rasta styled R2-D2 inspired mini dab rig.

Be quite operational when your friends arrive:
Death Star is a fully operational 75/25 Indica dominant hybrid with a high THC content. It is a cross between Sensei Star and Sour Diesel. Just like the DS-1 Orbital Battle Station, this hybrid hits hard, so it is better for evening and nighttime use. Crush it up in a Death Star inspired grinder.

The Skywalker family:
Skywalker was created by the Dutch Passion Seed Company. They crossed two of their award-winning Indicas – Blueberry and Mazar – to produce Skywalker, which they intended to be “one of the best Indicas in the world.”

Skywalker OG is a Sativa dominant, marijuana hybrid. The Kush is highly potent, with THC levels up to 21%, on average.

Skywalker OG Kush (“No. There is another… Sky… walk…errrr.”) is an Indica derived from Skywalker crossed with an OG Kush. Vape it with a Skywalker OG 710 KingPen.

Sour Skywalker (“That name no longer holds any meaning for me.”) is a half and half Sativa/Indica strain. Its ancestry is Sour Diesel crossed with Skywalker OG. This strain is elusive. If you happen to come across some on the outskirts of Anchorhead, on Tatooine, you can smoke it in the lightsaber-themed Evol Vape Kit.

The Jedi Masters:
OG Darth Vader is a strong, Indica marijuana hybrid that induces an intellectual high, combined with an opiate-like body relaxation. The effect is deep and long lasting. Vader relieves stress and insomnia. It also stimulates appetite and helps alleviate nausea. Crush it up in one of these Darth Vader inspired grinders or a and smoke it in a Dark Fader glass pipe or this handmade, Durapox resin-molded Vader pipe.

OG 1 Kenobi is an is an 80/20 Indica-dominant marijuana hybrid, with 18-23% THC levels. It is a cross between Master Kush and Skywalker OG hybrid, and is often mistaken for Skywalker OG. The force is strong with Kenobi. This strain is not for pot padawans. It might knock you out, just like Kenobi knocked out Anakin Skywalker before he fell into the lava pit. Although, if you have serious, chronic pain, you might say, “Help me, OG 1 Kenobi, you’re my only smoke!”

Master Yoda is cross between OG Kush and Master Kush. Yoda is an Indica dominant marijuana hybrid. Meditate on this you will! Smoke it in a hand blown glass Yoda inspired pipe or let four padawans puff the la simultaneously with a Yoda themed, quad tube ceramic bong.

Jedi Kush (aka OG Jedi) is a pure Indica marijuana, with a 2% CBD count and THC levels between 19-25%, on average. Jedi buds are spade-shaped, like Star Destroyers, with orange and purple undertones, like Mace Windu’s lightsaber. The effects are almost comparable to micro-dosing.

There has been some mention of the Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett in the "What are you Watching thread", but I did not want to geek about Star Wars shows or hog the conversation in a thread that touches on so many other viewing topics.

Was thinking of starting a Mandalorian/Boba Fett specific thread but saw there was already a T&T Star Wars one, so I'm gonna try bumping this one instead. It’s only about 3 years old so it’s just light thread necromancy.

The Mandalorian and its new spinoff Book of Boba Fett are way more in the vein of Rogue One than they are in the disappointing Rise of Skywalker.

Two seasons in, the Mandalorian is a really great show, primarily driven by writing, production and direction by people who are total Star Wars geeks themselves - Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, etc. It captures the ethos of Star Wars but with a kind of a sci-fi western vibe. Pedro Pascal is great as the titular character, although most of the show takes place without seeing his face.

I actually didn't have super high hopes for Book of Boba Fett, but it has been similarly fantastic. It cuts back and forth between Boba Fett's past and present and actually did a good job explaining how he got out the scarlak pit where he seemingly had met his end toward the beginning of Return of the Jedi.

Both characters are bounty hunters living among the crime underworld of their galaxy. Both have a surprisingly noble streak though, although this comes from different places for each character. Din Djarin walks "the way" of the mandalorians and as an orphan, he has a soft spot for orphans. Boba Fett is driven (at least to start) by grief for his adopted people who were slaughtered and a desire to rule a crime syndicate through respect and fairness.

This post is getting long but I'll close it with a comment on the new ship that Din Djarin got in the fifth episode of Book of Boba Fett. He and Peli Motto working on getting it running took me back to being a kid working on old cars in high school, right down to rolling out with exposed V-8s and un-painted body panels with primer and bondo. It was fucking awesome when he hit the gas and ran away from the police in it.

@tylerdurden and @Aeroknow and @BarnBuster you guys seem to be digging on Book of Boba Fett too, so I'm assuming you at least like the two new shows.

I’ll post again next week when the next episode drops even if no one picks up the convo before then

I'll be taking your lunch money now.
That’s pretty funny. I’m a tad older than you but when I was in grade school, it was considered cool to roll in with a Star Wars lunch box or a new Kenner action figure. You would not get picked on or have your lunch money taken in the early-mid 80’s for debating whether Luke or Han was cooler.
The kid that had a My Little Pony collection got ridden pretty mercilessly though. I feel bad about that sometimes to this day.

I really have to catch up on my redorkulation. I haven't even properly seen all of the 3 newest movies. I watched the first 2 on airplanes which is never conducive to paying close attention. And haven't watched any of the shows. I heard good things about The Mandalorian and mixed emotions on Boba Fett. Either way certainly seems they milking this cash cow franchise for all its worth lol.

I liked Mandalorian a lot, it's got Baby Yoda. The book of Boba Fett gets a big thumbs down from me.

Han was cooler! I don't remember having a movie themed lunch box.

Really suggest you at least watch episode 5 of Book of Boba Fett. Even if you don’t like the show, that episode is almost entirely Mando and has some touching dialogue about Baby Yoda. My 16-year old sarcastically asked my wife and I if we were about to cry at one point. My 13-year old did get teared up in an earlier episode when Boba Fett came back to his people having been raided and slaughtered.

I thought Luke was cooler as a little kid, but came around to your view on Han as teen.

I was afraid of Darth Vader when I was little, but my boys both thought he was badass from the jump. I was like 2 and a half the first time I saw Star Wars though.

I only watched the first episode. I don't know what I was expecting but I was kinda disappointed with the character after reading tales of the bounty hunter. I'll check out episode five, will it make any sense without watching the others?

It kinda makes sense luke was young and more relatable, han was older.

Episode 6 of Book of Boba Fett was another entertaining one. Another healthy dose of Mando plus Luke and Baby Yoda in this one. Timothy Olyphant is good as Marshall Vance, he had a Ralen Givens presence in his scenes.
It was kinda CGI heavy, one of my kids said it was supposed to be Book of Boba Fett not the Graphics of Grogu but we were all entertained nonetheless.

They can't have killed off Vance yet, can they? Looks like he went down hard.

My kids don’t think so. They think Vance will have another duel with Cad Bane and might have gotten the drop on him if the deputy hadn’t meddled. We are pretty sure the deputy is dead though.
i didn’t watch all the animated stuff (Clone Wars, Legends, etc.) but my kids did. They started yelling at the TV and freaking out when Bane came walking out of the desert, they had to explain who he was to me.
