Weeks to months...you get a temp basically with your initial paperwork. Make a single copy of it for your walk-abouts or another for your room if you need it and hide the original or what not.

I laminate my cards fyi, it fuckin sucks to have the hologram tore up and pay those bastards extra for a replacement piece of paper, a-holes.

I have been growing for several years and it used to take a long time, now not so much. I sent in my initial application as a patient in mid January and they had my card to me in about 2 weeks. In the past I have seen patients wait 2-3 months to get the actual card. It is my understanding that OMMP is now sending out prompts way in advance of your expiration date to get you to reapply early. They have obviously figured out what many of us already knew and that was by waiting until the very last minute to send in your renewal you gained the 2-3 months it took to process for no charge and your new expiration date would be 2-3 months later. I will still wait and send my renewal in on the last day and carry the paperwork and get another 2 weeks, we are paying enough as it is for absolutely no service and not even a brick and mortar building to deal with them directly any longer, all by mail.

That is exactly what I was going to do this year!!! It took them 2 months to get me my card last year. My renewal date is not until mid April, but they sent me the reminder info in January! Nice try OMMP -- I'm with Caretaker Dad on this one, waiting til the last day. If I keep doing this, my renewal date will one day coincide with MJ Recreational Legalization and become completely moot. :-)

I'm with Calyx, from the date they signed for my new application (counting that as day 1) I received my cards on day #12. They seem efficient as all get out these days :)

Last post was April 7th on this topic. Does anyone have any new updates on time lines? Submitted my signed paperwork a couple of weeks ago. Are people getting their cards within a month currently or has the department fell back into its old patterns of taking a couple months? Thanks for the reply, I am a brand new patient.

I looked up this question about 100 times lol. I figured since this was the best thread I found that I would update my experience.

First time patient. Washington resident. Listed a grower. Ommp received it Sept. 19. They are mailing my card out tomorrow morning (Oct. 16). That would be 28 days until they sent out my card. About 29-30 days total for me until I'll have my card in hand. Dispensaries will not allow you in without your actual card anymore unless they aren't following the new guidelines.

That 12 days posted above had me going crazy checking the mail lol. Hope this helps.

Thank you hulkhands for your response. Did you call the agency to find out that they were mailing your card? The 12 days comment is driving me a bit crazy too. What I find annoying is that we are unable to enter dispensaries until we have our card. The whole process takes quite a long time in my opinion. Oh well, what can you do but wait. Thanks again hulkhands. If anyone else from Oregon has applied for their card recently within the last few months please post how long it took to receive your card, that way I can get an idea of what current waiting times are. Thanks so much.

P.S. Here is an article explaining why it might be taking longer than normal right now. http://www.oregonlive.com/marijuana/index.ssf/2014/10/medical_marijuana_in_oregon_la.html
This article talks about the increase in people applying for their card since January of this year.

Currently OMMP is processing applications from Oct. 1st. So those applications should be mailed out shortly. It sounds like it is taking roughly 30 days if you have no issues with your application to process it and mail it back out. They did say that the applications have started to slow down compared to summer. So if you are currently applying, you should have a quicker turn around due to the time of year.

The OMMP got my papers I mailed on Oct. 20th and they mailed out my card on Nov. 18th.
Looks like it takes about a month to get your card these days. Last year it took about a month to get my card also.

FWIW, Renewals are much quicker this year vs last years application (at least for me) DHS received my package on 1-27-15 and on 2-6-15 sent out my new cards (8 business days later.) Mind you for whatever reason processing my application(s) have tended to be quicker than others reported each year...
