Epsom Salt

Anybody able to share some wisdom with me about Epsom Salt? I heard briefly somewhere that this can be very beneficial but like I said it was a brief glance and I lost the page. My organic lady is 65cm now(2ft) and has been flipped to 14/14 for a few days(10days, give or take 2) and has shown her sex. Can I use Epsom salt in flower stage? Is there a link anyone could post for me to read please?

epsom salt is magnesium sulfate,
so it has magnesium and sulfer.
i only use it when i first mix the soil and if they show deficiency in either of these nutrients.
one to three tablespoons per gallon of water if you want to see if it helps.

That rate will burn the roots, cause plant decline and possible death, and induce a lockout of other elements.

The best way to (slowly) supply Mg is by mixing dolomite lime in with your potting soil, If, it doesn't contain any.

very good advice. and if your gonna use time released soil nute like miracle grow. imo dolamite lime is a must

I sure do re-use my soil. I add it to my compost in the end, but I always use newly boughten promix twice. Then it gets mixed up with anything I can get my hands on, kelp, seaweed, egg shells, coffee grounds, any vegtable mqtter. Then it sits and cooks for the winter, then I use it as a super soil. I use this in outside plots, I don't have to fert....besides, i'd be going through 100 bags a year instead of 50 if I didn't lol....

I just haven't been adding it(lime) to my inside grow, and wonder if it would help any with the second planting.

That's a good way to recycle soil! Some people just pull the root ball out of the pot, shake it off and re-use the soil like that. That just seems like a lot of trouble to save a $$.:bigjoint:

Dolomite is pretty soluble, at least it's held in suspension pretty well. I would think that over time it would leach out. I'd add some if I were you.

It's a must IMO. Excellent pH buffer and a good source of calcium and magnesium. :bigjoint:

it doesn't seem to be burning my roots but i don't apply regularly at that dosage, however im beggining to suspect the excess magnesium is locking out k...

also thats the rate it reccomends on the bag of epsom salt i have,
perhaps it a high dosage like most fertilizer dosage estimates.

Thanx Uncle Ben,, i'll start adding it as long as it won't harm them, it'll be clones going in them 2nd time around.

Doc, I live right on the ocean, and might as well compost that good stuff we'd just through away anyways.
