im settin up my to-be grow room now and its a small room under basement stairs, but the room is not sealed, there is a 3x10 hole in the wall to enter the room. im going to have a 400 w hps in a few days. if i have an oscilating fan in there, will that be enough to keep the air cool and fresh.

no light wont be shining out, i jus mean i cant have intake and exhaust tubes in the room. the room is not even a room kinda, its only 2 walls about 3 feet apart from eachother and steps going from about 10ft- the ground in the back of this "closet". no light gets in, only light can leak out but thats not a problem.

well i probably could close it, but that would prob be a hassle, if i can leave it open that would be best, idk how i could close this anyway besides these black garbage bacgs i have duct taped together which woodnt give me any acces to the room if they were sealing the room

I use a 400 watt HPS myself and my first crop is approximately 13 inches tall.

My house has central heat and air but I had to buy a 5200 BTU window a/c unit to keep the room from getting too hot.

What is the ambient temp down there? That will make all the difference in the world. I would think 80°F would be about tops - after that your fan will decrease in effectiveness pretty quick and your plants will start to heat up to unacceptable levels.

well it aint started yet light is on its way now, but if i have a closet with an open door, or lack of one lol, and jus blow the air out the door with the fan, will this be fine

It depends how hot it is right now. If it is 65°F at night and 70°F during the day then you will be fine. But if this place heats up, your little fan will just be blowing hot air around. See what I mean?

oo gotcha yea thats some common sense duh lol yea so i keeep the entire basement down a consistent 68.... so that light mite actually give me a perfect grow temp around ya think? 70-75
