emergency dry

Greetings all,

I would like to share my experience with my emergency quick dry method based on this chart of boiling points http://www.braatah.com/vaporizer-temperature-chart/ Trying time forced me to come up with this.

This is for when your in pain and need a quick picker upper and no alternatives available (like my last weekend). Early buds had no heavy " i need to sit down" stone, a total head buzz. cerebral.

@ day 42, looking like a another week or two..... err.... help!

setting toaster oven to "Turbo" or convection (with the little fan), to bake @ 200-225 F.

keep the door cracked about 1/2" this is a must otherwise you'll cook your meds!

you should feel a warm dry breeze with your hand inside the toaster oven after pre heated, if its too hot to put your hand then its too hot for your bud. After its preheated i could literally touch the rack without burning. Temps can vary as long as it doesn't burn you!

I used an infrared temp gun, while set to 200-225, the temp of the bud surface was anywhere 150-180 F depending on how much i left door open

put a small piece of foil down and every so gingerly place your victim branch and cook, popcorn buds done in about 15 minutes, a 4g wet bud took about 45-60 minutes, dried it up to about 1g...

here is the key, there is no set time, no set temp. start low and work your way up, check the bud every 10 minutes to make sure you haven't over done it.

infrared temp gun was my peace of mind that i was not over doin it. anyone with HID should have one!! I was amazed at how much the temps fluctuate even just by a few inches and to the side in my 4x4x7 (1000w mh) cab by using this invaluable tool. mostly used for checking temps for my tops (to bend down or not to bend down, that is the question!)

I cooked a popcorn bud too long. It was so brittle i thought it would crumble just by breathing on it, but ironically the hit from that set me soaring compared to the other ones i tried

Sooooo I have to agree with others that the crunchier i got it the more blasted, dont know why bc i dont know much about chem. still early bud is not as potent or developed. so if you can wait!!!!

I would rather let them grow but i think we are all her for the same reason, first to take care of head. mon.

it probably has something to do with the thc getting activated by the heat. like what you do to dry ice hash once youre done. you boil it for a few minutes to decarboxilize it. This happens over the drying/curing process just alot slower.

you probably destroy a small amount of thc on the way but keeping that temp where you had it was the best of the worst situations. haha.

I used to have a dehumidifier for a basement and id just stick one in front of there and a few hours later crispy buds.

Or like stated above break it down and let it sit out. I would break it down and twist it into a blunt because the shell will dry out quickly if left out in the open. then as the shell dries out itll pull moisture from the bud.

takes a little longer but if you preroll all your shit at the beginning of the day youd be good.

bullet points darling, not boiling points.

hehehe

IM talking boiling points dear, perhaps my sloppy English makes you wish I had used bullet points?

Im a very over analytical sarcastic cynical smart ass breed of man and with that said your comment have out wit me. I ask my self, how can this be!? and i determine that you need some mental bullet points or your have simply outted me and if so i applaud you as im usually the one throwing people off their mental track not the other way around.

Anywho i do like your idea of chop and dry, and even more buds chop-and-twist (i absolutely love doing things with alternate motives), the only hang up is that chopping fresh bud, for me, doesnt seem easy, i feel like i can hear those precious chomes screaming a deathly wail "nooo no wait for me to finish and dry" as i mush them with my fiskars. i like my steak bloody.

My second would be a dehumidifier if i had a second one, first one is active in service and cant leave its post.

+1 on the infra-red temp gun. I picked one up at lowe's a few months ago for $20. Best investment I've made in a while. Hanging a thermometer near your canopy is good, the temp gun is better, imo. I still have the thermometer nearby, but only to measure ambient temps.
