Elevating RDWC off ground ideas

Currently I'm using a shop vac to suck up leftover water in the totes.

It is a pain in the ass. I'd much rather slap a bulkhead in the center and a valve and plumbing to drain the system out. This would require some elevation of the totes.

I was thinking pallet racking. The problem is the price. Was quoted $250 for (2) 36" H x 24" D x 96" long racks.

Just seeing if anyone else uses a similar setup and what they use.

@rkymtnman I remember you said you use bottom drains or used bottom drains

yep, i put my totes on concrete blocks. i used a shower drain (basically a bulkhead but you get the steel grate to stop wayward hydroton from getting in the pipes.)

on the main line back to control res, i teed off a 1/2 pvc drain line to a floor drain in the next room. open valve and drain the whole thing

Oh so you use those lines to recirculate as well?

Sounds like a cheaper solution than having a ball valve at each tote.

i'd have to double check, but i'm pretty sure they are 1.5" pvc. they slip fit into the shower drain and then glued in place.

Ya I saw on IG a guy who just put his system up on some 2X4's and it was decent. But I honestly don't think you're going to be able to drain it much more than you already can using a bulkhead on the bottom. You need something like the Slucket brand with angled sides to drain fully.
