I am using a 400 watt hps now and it hasnt seemed to change my electric bill at all. And I am in my 2 week of 12/12. Before had on 18/6 for 4 weeks.

it will use 0.4 kw per hour it's on.
x that by what you pay for elec (let us say $0.15 per kwh)
on 12/12 grow
0.4 x 12 x 0.15 = $0.72 per day = $21.60/mounth
on 18/6 grow
0.4 x 18 x 0.15 = $1.08 per day = $32.40/mounth
0n 24/0 grow
0.4 x 24 x 0.15 = $1.44 per day = $43.20/mounth
