Electricians/Apprenticeship question

I am going to apply for an electrical apprenticeship in june. I would apply in may but i need a month to clean my system because i know they drug test.

What are the qualifications to get in?

Once you get in do they drug test over the whole 5 years of your training or just once to get in?

my next door neighbor is an apprentice and he smokes weed, and does coke.

Ahhh... but that's in canada.

It depends what your an apprentice for. For the electrical apprenticeship i know they drug test.

to my knowledge he works as an electrical apprentice.

If you live in canada you DO NOT get a drug test, trust me ....need so many hours,then your able to be "signed up" as an apprentice instead of basically a labourer....then you are able to go to school and start the apprenticeship....oh yea after completion of the first term(basic) you get $1000...just cause.

are you trying to get into a union? idk about the apprentices but my father is a foreman and he is never tested
