Electrical question

Has anyone in CA paid an electrician to run more amps or install a sub panel in a garage or other grow area? What kind of prices did they charge for the work?

I’m not worried at all about calling electricians. I’d just like to hear from you guys.

Also I rent my house. Should I get permission from the landlord (property management company) before making changes, or would using a licensed contractor count as a beneficial addition to the home and I shouldn’t worry about it?

Typically running new circuits requires a permit, and the permit may require the owners consent. I would consider it poor form to make changes to a rental property without obtaining consent of the owner.

Electricians usually charge by the hour plus materials. About $80-100 around my area in western Mass. YMMV
