electrical question - 400 watts?

so i guess im gonna work on 400 watts.

aprox 100 watt CFL for seedling
400 watt (4200k) metal halide for veg
400 watt (2100k) HPS for flowering

i have a fairly small grow space about 3 by 3 feet so im only gonna use one bulb at a time, MAYBE 2.

what will this do for my electrical bill. is 400 watts enough to worry about or notice difference in my bill or my records, with the company seeing 400 watts jump every 12 hours?

also any more lighting suggestions?

its all computerised. pay ur bill and u wont have any problems. both of u wont notice anything. well.....u will notice the price go up a little but nothing for any1 to get worried about.

basicly, they will only use info against u if u dont pay ur bill... then they will get suspicious

A 400 watt light won't use enough power to register on the system. A heater typically uses 1500 watts for example. You will have nothing to worry about if you pay the bill. Good luck!

why does a damn simple lightbulb take so much energy?

seems like my PC would drive my bill higher than a mere light bulb.

whats the aprox wattage on common bedroom or house appliances or electronics? i plan on trying to conserve energy by not having my pc or other high voltage appliances plugged in or at least while the lights run, to save money and keep my usage balanced.

depends on ur price per kwh
i pay 5.1 cents per and it would cost me about 15 dollars a month for a 12/12 cycle......so about 20 for 18 hours a day.......i only use 600 hps but 400 are cheaper to replace the bulbs and u can hang closer to the plants
