edges of leaves

so my first post on this forum and i got a question. ive been growing for a bit more than a month with my buddy/roommate. we started the plants in an 18-10-10 mix and they were doing fine. but they needed to be transplanted and we had no more soil so we asked one of my buddies with a car to pick us up some soil. but he got a soil mix of 14-14-14 and we didnt realize this at first. so they went into shock and after a couple days they seemed fine exept that the leaves were turning rusty yellow. now my buddy was also mixing in fert at the same time... is this a result of just too much nitrogen and will just water clear it up or do we need to do something else

new soil should mean that the plants wouldn't show nutrient deficiencies right away (if they were going into larger pots). could have just been transplant shock. also a bad idea to put them into new soil and add fertilizer immediately.

stick with straight water until the roots have at least hit the sides and bottom of the new soil in the larger containers.

could also be that your water is causing nutrient lock-out. no idea what type of water ur using. and, of course, 'a picture is worth a 1000 words'.
