Start trying to pump them up with fancy labels that come with a high price tag and your just opening a can worms. Keep it simple and complete. Dyna Grow, Jacks Classic, Espoma Plant Tone are good choices. Add in plenty of worm castings and dolomite lime into your mix from the start and your off too the races.
If your planning to grow hydro then ignore everything that I said. Go with the Tech recipe for success and your off too a good start. Many have great luck with Dyna Grow in hydro. But I cannot personally speak from experience using it in hydro.
