Ebb and Flow Problem

I'm trying Hydro for the first time, and I'm having some problems. I imagine it is something simple I've just overlooked.

My plants are yellowing and slowly dying. I haven't been overly ambitious with nutrients yet, but I have been sure to check nitrogen levels and add accordingly. Also, my Ph levels are at about 5.5-5.6.

There seems to be a slight buildup of algae as well. I'm addressing that with a better cover.

Any tips? I don't want to lose my first hydro crop...

check that...I just noticed it was your first post. read all the facts and search stuff on the site first.
 
New to using forums. That would be why the lack of posts. My "teacher" of sorts is unavailable.

I started with 100ppm. Was worried that was excessive for the start, as they young.
 
I AM NO EXPERT -THIS IS JUST WHAT I DO

first 3-4 weeks - I am on 350 ppm then I move to 700ppm for veging
I use technoflora BCBoost, grow, and bloom.
Since I have changed to this statedgy, I have had no issues in veg.
