eastern facing window sill grow possibly or not.+rep

I have a window in my attic that faces east, im not sure what the exact amount of direct sunlight that window gets but I'm guessing 4-6hours direct or maybe less idk. I will get up in the morning and see exactly when light comes in window and when it stops coming through the window. So if the sun comes up in the window at 8am-1pm when sun is strait up in the sky will this be enough direct light if I have 4-6hours indirect light. I also want to know if they plants will go strait to flower since they wont be getting much light. Also since the light will be limited does this mean the buds will be airy and stretched. I have a 2tube 2ft flourescent fixture, that I could put on a timer for the 4-6 hours the plants get indirect light but I dont know if that would help any, if I can I want to avoid using lights at all. What strain should I use for this window grow, that yeilds high, very low odor, easy to grow, and decent potency.

sun rises int he east and sets in the west. unless your house is on casters I am guessing you get less than 6 hours of sun but i am not a meteorologist

yea probably less thats why I said 4-6 but its probably more like 2-4 hours of direct. Like I said I will check in the morning and later in the evening to see if the light is still direct. I already have my CFL grow going, I am just looking for a way to get a little more yeild without having to get HPS, or without having to go check on plants way out in the woods and carry them water and such.

I would say at least 8(at most would be 12)..but also depends on time of year... In my opinion nothing like geting free grow time...so if you can use the sun for 8 hours why not let mother nature ease electric bill.

I cant seem to find any good window grows, there are a few videos on youtube but none all the way through flower with only the light from the sun in window sill. I would really like to get some plants up there mainly because the place in the attic where Ill be putting these plants is a area above my front porch in my attic but this part of the attic is wasted space that was accidently closed off from the rest of the attic during the construction of my house. This little closed off area happened to have the only window in the attic so I want to make use of these consequences that make it possible for me to do a grow up there in the attic. The whole room is like 10'x4' I could put some kind of grow tent up there with like 600w HPS during the winter which would be awsome, I have been wanting to throw out the cfls and party cups for a HPS and Hydro setup.

There is only 1 window that faces east in my grow area, I dont have other windows. Please read all of the thread before you answer please, I noticed since you were new I would advise this so that you dont get torn in half by other members of this site from posting in there threads without reading the info first. Thanks for the input though and Welcome to RIU.

Stick the tubes don't worry about the sun.
the furos will project light at any time not the sun
so do this set up the lights and when u get up in the morning move the plant to the window once the light has set move it back to your lights.
You should flower in to time.
