Easing into 12/12?

would there be any difference in growth rate or flowering time if i took my current schedule(16/8) and reduced the light hours by one until i reached 12/12? if so how many days should i stay on 15/9, 14/10 etc..

I have read many forums regarding this. I found it 50/50 like most techniques. I eased into the last two grows, taking away daylight from the end making the days end sooner(shorter) but left the lights on time the same. I noticed my plants began showing signs within the first week. Although I was doing other things different too because I am always testing and learning. This might have been more something else than this.

I guess my point is try it out, my plants didnt suffer from it and I plan on doing it again.

There's probably a lot opinions on this but I'd just go straight to 12/12....why make something so simple into something a bit hard to keep up with????

alright thanks. i think ill leave it on each light schedule for 2-3 days before switching to the next, eventually stopping at 12/12.

Well its as simple as you make it. and i'm not going for simplicity as much as i am finding a more efficient way to flower my plant.

I think its just for the possibility of something bigger and better. We're all Americans here, well I am.....hope thats not a bad thing here. lol

Just kidding Im a proud American that loves his Country but hates his government.

yes for the opportunity.. Just maybe it might help. i thought id ask. :]
if theres no benefit just lemme know.

Can't speak concerning the benefit of either method...I just go from 24/0 to 12/12 ...works for me....to each his own...

Exactly, to each his own..that is the best way to put it since i dont think theres been any serious research or experiments done on this subject. But i have watched a buddy do this with his last medical grow, my opinion is he was getting a bit too nit picky..meaning he was making it way harder than it has to be, not sayin your making it harder than it has to be just stating that most people over think things when its very simple. Like i said i watched my buddy do it and i seen no advantages whatsoever. Then again it wasent an actuall experiment he was just worried about just switching them no matter how much i reassured him it would do no harm.

In my opinion i see no benifits to this and on top of that the transition will add an extra week to your grow just to change the lights gradually. I say just go ahead and switch from ur veg hours straight to 12-12.
