Easiest Nutrients to use in RDWC?

I'm currently using jacks 321 nutrient schedule but I keep running into deficiencies, then i bump up the ec then i get nute burn. I need a brand of nutes and nute schedule that is bomb proof in rdwc.

Not sure if it’s the lights but all your leaves are very light green.

I've been playing with the ec levels for ruffly 1.5 years. Can't get it right with jacks
i would try Lucas formula with 3 options: maxibloom, floranova bloom or micro/bloom flora series.

i don't think iv'e ever been higher than 1.2EC, more like 0.8 to 1EC. only additive you might need is cal/mg. and something for root rot.

Sounds like a ph issue to me.....need to keep it around 6.2 to 6.5. You wanna be at about an EC of .9 to 1.0

Had issue when the switch was made to HLG lighting......same as you, to low EC and then to high and tip burn.

You also might wanna increase light distance to 24 inches.

Its not to high for hydro, that is mostly myth. Experience shows you need to run higher PH if seeing deficiency exactly like what he is experiencing, and all other things are in check.

Been in hydro RDWC for well over 20 years.....you want your PH a little high when seeing deficiency.....check the chart for PH of magnesium and calcium assimilation.... Its up in the 6.2 range easily.

Are you running CO2?

Daytime and nighttime temps need to stay in check as well as RH as I've seen low RH cause what looks exactly like a deficiency.

No co2

It's been years. I forget lol
Lol. You didn’t have these lights probably. These new leds are sure causing a lot of problems. They gulp up Ca and mg but as you said you have them dimmed down.

I agree with bullet 2112 raise your ph. See if that helps.

Do you think cutting the jacks nute chart ec numbers in half is the right thing to do? With the higher ph. I've kept the ph really close to 5.8 and never tried the higher ph route. I will tho lol

As far as other nutes GH is pretty common. Pricey though.I tried Lucas in my rdwc wasn’t impressed. I use cheap dry from my local hydro shop and feed at 1 EC ph 6

It's not the nutrients that's the problem. It's environmental. Jack's has a lot of Ca and Mg it. New growers just follow numbers instead of focusing on the plants health itself.

Like recommended light distance may vary heavily depending on environment. Manufacturers like to put as low distance as possible because they get higher values and specs at measured distance.

Most people only look for higher numbers and specs. Most successful people running LED's all run them at greater distance from the canopy. Cheers!
