DWC watering question

Some DWC setups have water pumped directly to the base of the plant and others do not. I am planning a set up that will not have the water pump. Do I just make sure the rockwool stays moist?

do you know if the pumps on 24/7 keeping the rw wet
and i have heard that you gotta keep it moist by watering or setting a drip line
wht dont ya wanna run the pump they say its like 5 times quicker

You need an air pump for air, or your plant will drown.
A water pump up to the roots is not necessary(although nice and possibly better), if your container is sealed the airpump creates enough vapour to let the roots know where to go and they get there pretty quickly.

yah pumping or recirculating the res water to the rockwool is only really needed for first couple of weeks, once the roots touch water its no longer needed. Running DWC without recirculating is fine. Get your first grow under your belt and then see if you want to adjust and add the pump for the next grow. 24/7 air pump in the res to keep it aerated is fine

Pumping water through tubes is not necessary at all. Check the thread linked below.
