DWC Bucket size

Alright so I was wondering if I were looking to grow a small plant would I be able to get away with a 1 or 2 gallon bucket? I'm not really looking to get much out of it just sort of as a hydro experiment.

I sometimes use 2 gallon buckets with 5" net pots and an air stone in each one.works fine and there is still plenty of room for them to get large. My northern lights got to 39 inchs and I only vegged them 2 weeks.

For a learning experience it will be fine. What you are likely to learn though, is that the plants want a bit more water. I agree with RB, 3-4 gal per plant. Don't worry, you should still get fine results though.

The drawbacks to a small res are mostly the quick fluctuation of temps, PPM, and PH. A larger res will better resist changes. On the other hand a small res can be changed out much more often without much expense.

Alright thanks. I am just trying to get the basic hydro concept down. I have grown before but only in soil. I've heard that hydro is a little bit faster and makes better bud. I was thinking of making a separate res for the nute water. Would this would. Like add another bucket beside the actually growing bucket with pvc running at the bottom between the two. I would add a water pump in the reserve bucket so I could change out the water easier.

Yeah Thats called RDWC ( Recirculating ) very convenient.

Im stuck now. I can't decide if I wana do hydro or stick with soil. Cause I got this old computer tower that I was thinking of making a stealth set-up with. I already have everything I need besides the mylar and nutes. I already light sealed it up and everything. I would do a hydro in the tower but the tower is barely big enough for a soil plant. If I do decide on staying with soil I would have a lot of LST and topping to do.
