Dwc 5 gall - Lollipoping?

Curious about others opinion on using a typical 5 gal dwc set up with two 5" net pots per lid/bucket.

If I plan for shorter life and height, I would possibly be left with two root balls that aren't going to be taking up the entire bucket, no?

Would using 2" net pots make for a better choice? Or maybe 2x5" - 2x2" per lid? That seems crazy but I would do it as long as I can ensure that all these roots won't choke each other out. Stunted growth is obviously another factor I'm trying to steer clear of.

Is it probably better to come up with a divider that would still allow the free flowing bubbles and water to circulate to both root systems?
Also would I be shooting myself in the foot by attempting to scrog these two in the same bucket.

I would also like to add that I will not be using a res that could communicate with the 5gal buckets. These are strictly air stone and self contained res.

Thank you all!

I use 2" net pots in all of my systems and the only time i would ever put more than one plant per bucket is when i am sexing new strains. Because at that point i have clones of each going and when sex is determined i toss the originals and all male clones. Not generally a good idea to plan a full grow with more than one per bucket.

^ what he said. IF you want more plants in the same space pick up some 4 gallon square buckets. you can fit more squares in the same space as circles.
