"Dual Arc Bulbs" (600 watt HPS and 400 watt MH in same bulb)

Regarding the "Dual Arc Bulbs" (600 watt HPS and 400 watt MH in same bulb), isn't it hard to cool that monster? The total spectrum idea is intoxicating, but doesn't it generate at least twice as much heat as a standalone 600 watt HPS?

I would like to try one, but I'm thinking it would be too much heat for my small grow room, which is 3.5 x 3.5 x 8 = 98 cubic feet.

Opinions, please. And thanks.

That sounds like a gift from God, but in your setup idunno. I use CFLs - I checked into some nice hps setups though, usually they have a clear cooling duct right over the bulb that pulls a shit ton of the heat out. If you get it, make sure your lamp has a serious bulb cooling system and I think your mint.

Uneducated reply, please take this with a grain of salt and not as 100% fact.

Thanks for the reply. I have a nice DayStar fixture with 6" cooling flanges. But I'm wondering if it's enough to cool the 1000 watt dual arc bulb in a 98 cubic foot grow room.

its probably cooler than having 600w hps and 400w mh together, which i have.

nicerlooking growth, but not noticably better yield (couldnt keep it cool enough perhaps)
