My humidity is extremely low for drying. its 25% ish and it should be 50-60% 65F-70F. Its winter and my heater really dehumidifies the room. I have bought a humidifier but its not good enough to get the whole room up, but i dont want to put it in the actual dry room section because to much humidity what should i do? By the way havnt chopped them yet just planning ahead, i DONT WANT THEM TO DRY TOO FAST

PLEASE RIU I NEED HELP, HOW CAN I MAKE A DRY ROOM THATS 50%ish humidity? i tried the humidifier in there and it was still only 30%. I dont want my buds to dry in 3 days and be crunchy breaky and hay smelling. Please guys doesnt anyone else have a extremely low Humidity % problem with drying?

you can make a mister, or bubler
put a airstone/mister in water it brings up the humidity quite a bit, add more if needed

25 is good bro..id try to higher it to 35-40%...here's what u do take a couple towels soak them in water then ring in out so its not dripping all over then hang em in ur dry room..this will raise it to about 45-50% and u dont wanna go any higher then that for dryin..its called dryin cuz u want it to be dry like under 50%RH

Def home grower, dude i would even dry hanging the buds up and hang a few moist towels or paper towels if anything... this should bring your humidity to the desired range of 50-65%. If its too late and your buds are drying too quick you can put them in the jars for a day then back out in the dry box. Redo this is needed. Good luck happy growing :bigjoint:

+reps to all so far, good feedback. Anymore other tips or advice? hanging towels sounds like a bitch drying room is 3x2x6

i live in the desert where the humidity is always 20% or lower i hang for 2 or 3 days. i check everyday to make sure their just barely crispy on the very tips but the stems are still bendy, and the middle is still quite green. i jar them for one day (the next day the jar will have condensation in it). Then i paper bag them for usually 2-3 days. when u take the buds out they should be nice and sticky and the buds will feel crispy on the outside. i usually jar them again. After a day in the jar if the buds are still too green i just alternate between the paper bag and the jar. In the low humity its kind of tedious but taking the time to do it right will be night and day. good luck

i dont like paper bags they dry it faster than hang drying.. maybe i will hang dry for 2-3 days then jar them then put back out for a day then jar etc. to keep from drying to fast. ill just have to watch for mold

Ok I think I can help. I use and old box food dehydrator I disabled the heating element and took the door off the front. all it is, is a fan about the sise of a pc fan. you want to keep it dark light will degrade thc. you don't want heat. a cool breeze is fine. and i think 50 60% humidity is real high it will most likely mold before it dries. I dry for about three days flipping the buds each day. then put it in good jars leave the lid on for a day take the lid off for a day. I do this for at least two weeks. after three days of drying in the box it will still have moisture in the stems. when you jar it up the moisture will redistribute through out the buds. then take the lid off to let the moisture out. This process is just as important as growing it. if its not cured rite then your wasting your time. a proper cure will have smooth smoke and rip the shit out of you. what Ive found is the longer its jarred the better the smell and smoke. good luck

would a sealed cardboard box with a pc fan or two running an exhaust do the same thing as that?

depends... my grow room is 80 degrees so if I put em in bags lower to the ground (lower temp) rather than hang they dry slower. dealing with a nasty smelling hang dried plant now :(

Hang the entire plant untrimmed, all the extra leaf matter should slow the drying process a day or two atleast. But be prepared, it's going to take longer to get a nice trim.

...I sweat my buds. I put them in a plastic bag (air tight) for a few hours to bring out the moister from the middle, then I hang them back up....I repeat this cycle until they are dry but sticky....then I put them in mason jars to cure and smoke.

Bucket of water in front of your heater (if fan heater) or if it's an oil filled radiator style heater put it on top of it.

I wish low humidity was a "problem" for me, we have really high humidity here all year round, and trust me, it's easier to add moisture to the air than it is to remove it!

Hope this helps.
