Drying out soil before harvest?

I've heard people do this before harvest to increase the resin production but I couldn't find any posts in the Grow FAQ or by doing a search for it. Anyone know if its worth the effort and if so how long do you have to not water the soil before harvest?

keep your plant in compleat darkness for 2 days befor cutting it, this will give you optimum results in the pushing out of excess resin inside the plant.

wow 2 days now ive done 24hr. i will have to try that this time. thanks 4 the info.

i thought that was too long when i read it, but the book said 3 to 4 days... i dont know how a plant could still be standing up after that long in the dark...

what 3to 4 days wow although she is coming down ant way. don't no if i would go that long myself.

but i do know that 24 hours of darkness between veg and flowering really increases the speed of sexing.

i left town for a few days and my plants dried out a little. wilting leaves etc... well after giving them a good watering that night i went back the next day and DAMN the resin really came out. I'm not sure if it just soaked up the nuts in the soil or what but an accident lead to a new little discover! that doesn't happen too often.
