drying my 1st grow

ok im about to put my buds to dry and im going to hang them.. now i always hear everyone saying to dry in a dark place. does that mean the buds can not get any light or is it ok if light does get to them? any help would be great.. 1st grow & dry..

they can get some light it's really not that big of a deal

light degrades thc so you want to shelter them as much as possible but its not like flowering - a little light is ok.

for the first few weeks its good to keep them in as much darkness as you can
