how long should the leaves of the plant be hanging before their dry?

Hiya 
I wouldnt suggest smoking the fan leaves(UUAGH!), unless they have some resin glands on them just remove those and discard. But the smaller leafs are perfectly fine to smoke once you let them dry a little.Granted they wont taste the best but you will get a buzz.Or you can make some hash from them which in my opinion would be your best bet! but when i first started and didnt have a perpetual harvest, i smoked the leafs waiting for the next batch of goodies to arrive! But i would look into making some hash from them. Hoped i helped a little.

You keep the nice tops,,, trim & hang...cure etc.. .all the little nugs Pea size and the small frosted leaves you can practice making ice hash... you'll get more than just the experience....see Lacys hash making thread...

I think it depends on the quality of the plant the hash is made from and the quality of the bud your comparing it too. But most the time Hash will get you flying pretty high.But its a little trick to make most of the time. I use something similar to this HASHBAG : Bubble Hash bags 4 bags kit - 70.00
