Dryed out stalk!

I currently have a white skunk #1/original haze plant, and in two spots the main stalk has turned brown and almost "withered." The top half of the plant actually fell over because the stalk got so weak. I think this happened because I didn't water it for a few days. I wrapped duct tape around the stalk to make it stand back up but I want to know if the stalk will ever regain its strength. The uppermost growth continues to develop, but will this effect the speed at which it grows? I use the 3 part fox farm nutrients and temps are kept at 77 during the day and 68-70 at night (I use a 250w HPS) Thanks in advance

Thanks for the response mcpurple! I don;t think a bug would've caused it though. The sections where the stalk is basically dead are at least 2-3 inches, and its all the way around the stalk. The best way I can describe it is that the cell tissue seems as if its dead in those sections. Its very weak, as if theres nothing inside it. I don't think nutes couldve caused it. Someone please help!
And btw, this girl has been flowering since the start of the month, so im not sure tying it down is the best idea. This hasnt happened to any of my other girls.

Thats the damage at the lower end of the stalk. The part that completely bent over is higher up. I didnt think a pic of that section would help since its covered in duct tape.

Come on guys. 72 views and only one person has given me advice? I know someone has to have some idea what might've caused it.

No, it didn't ever touch a bulb. I'm not positive, but after googling the problem for a bit I think what has happened is my baby fell victim to stem rot :( Has anyone ever had this happen to them? If so, did the plant recover or is it a waste of space in my tent?
